There is nearly no facilities. Rooms couldn't be more basic. We had to ask for a hair dryer. Breakfast involve no effort from staff the only cooked thing is a hard boiled eggs. Over all disappointing experience.

Just returned from a weekend at this establishment, let me start by saying that this place is really a Guest House not a Hotel as it has next to no facilities. Hotel prices in Amsterdam are very high and this place was on the cheaper scale but for 160 euros per night for a twin room I was expecting better.... More

We learned our lesson the hard way! Should have checked out the reviews ahead of time. On the outside the place looks great as does the 'lobby' but from that point on, it was down hill! The rooms are very old, low ceilings and awful steps...very dangerous (they are all different heights) The bathroom was worse than a college dorm... More

A really fine building, well maintained for its age. Room toilet/shower was a little dissapointing, but who cares! For the price and location it is very good value and the owner was truely hospitable. 10 ot of 10 for the buffet breakfasts too. Hotel des Arts would be my first choice when returning to Amsterdam.

I have stayed in this hotel twice now for business but my company has been staying here for 5 years. The hotel is spread across many floors and has several stair cases to get to all the rooms. If you are looking for a hotel where every room, corridor and stairway looks exactly the same then this is not for... More

Our family of 4 stayed in their loft room which allowed for 2 twin beds on one floor and then you went up some stairs for 3 twin beds. There was no a/c available and it was very warm, so we needed to have the windows open for air - the problem was the window faces the street (very noisy... More

First, the guy at the front desk was not very helpful and very rude. The room was terrible. I paid for a double room and got two single beds. The carpet was very dirty, no soap in the bathroom, no air conditioning, linens look like the were there since Noah built his ark. The location of the hotel is fantastic... More

stayed here with a group of friends and would definitely not recommend. Staff are extremely rude and inappropriate - knocking on our door telling us to be quiet because other guests were sleeping. It was 6pm and we were talking not screaming! Male owner kept popping out of corners to stare at us when we walked past and also proceeded... More

We recently stayed at this hotel and would not recommend to anyone who has a sense if humour .. The staff were rude, and the male manager would linger outside your room to prevent any laughing or talking too loud by banging the door . The stairs are lethal , very narrow and one of girls I travelled with fell... More

Horrible experience in room no 5 at the back of the hotel. No free WI fi,kettle but no tea or coffee. Not even a bar of soap and the bathroom could do with a good refurb. No place to sit and no reception area and the continental breakfast did not include toast or a toaster. Avoid at all costs it's... More
