This was my first trip to Amsterdam and this is where I'll be staying for my next trip. Great location in the Jordaan. Quiet non-commercial street on a canal but close to everything. Friendly and accommodating staff. Reasonable price that includes breakfast brunch. Room are spartan so don't expect a queen size bed with a thick mattress but still comfortable... More

The pictures and descriptions give a good image of what you can expect. No luxery, but a simple room with a simple bathroom. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is ok. The spot is one of the best of Amsterdam. Not noisy. Only disadvantage is that the beds are old and rather firm. If you are 30 years old or... More

If you want 5 Star then do not stay here. If you want value for your money and a quiet hotel away from the Red Light district then this is a great choice. The staff is friendly and very helpful in planning your visit. The location is 5 minutes from the Anne Frank House and other interesting sites. Being Amsterdam... More

I was looking for a nice, clean place to stay while in Amsterdam, and I found it. The staff was friendly-- outgoing, even, at breakfast (which was much better than I had anticipated). There's a nice, not overly-priced bar within a five minute walk, as well as a cafe. It's a great location; I didn't make a habit of taking... More

I picked this hotel based on price, location, and previous reviews. It's certainly no frills- two single beds, very basic. The staff, however, were the kindest people we met in all of Amsterdam. Very friendly- serving breakfast to all guests each morning. If it had not been for their warmth and hospitality, I probably would be fine never returning to... More

We ended up staying at the Hotel Van Onna because we were booking pretty late and it was June, so there weren't many choices for inexpensive accommodations in the central city. The staff was very nice and courteous, but quite frankly the room was depressing. The bathroom was tiny and really poorly designed (example: the hook for the towel was... More

This hotel is in Jordaan, about a ten minute walk from the red light district. Good basic place to stay. Very reasonable rates. Room was bare bones, but clean and functional. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was not a buffet and a bit sparse, but OK. No intenert connection on the premises. Closest connection is a cafe several blocks... More

We stayed at Van Onna for 3 nights in Sep/09. There was an event in Amsterdam during the period of our stay, so it was really hard to find an avaiable room in the city. We booked the van onna knowing that it was a budget hotel, so be prepared for that... - The location is great, in a beautiful... More

My 11 year old son and I stayed here based on LP recommendation. Jordaan is definitely one of the best locations in Amsterdam, far from the crowds and traffic and only a short walk from the mainstream tourist parts of the city. Being just around the corner from Anne Frank Huis meant we could avoid the long queues here and... More

Basic, budget stay. Austere room, but clean. If you cannot climb many flights of stairs, do not consider this hotel. Bring your own shampoo. Breakfast was pleasant. Located in a peaceful, lovely neighborhood. Sometimes a front desk attendant was difficult to find.
