This is a standard internet hotel with no onsite staff. We had one of the basement rooms which was fine, we only saw one person in in for the two days we were there. Yes the shower room is small and the kitchen facilities basic but at least it had an actual coffee machine. The hotel is nicely situated from... More

We were there for 3 very hot nights at the beginning of Juiy. The room had a window that could not open, and we baked contantly. The room had 2 floor fans which we used all the time in the 34C heat. Would be OK if wondow opened.

We stayed recently in PH Apartments with a group of friends. The apartment close to the central station. But the apartment is very dirty and seem no occupy for very long time. The floor, tables, curtain are very dusty. The internet service is not stable. The windows are not open and the apartmen smell stinky. The AC is not working... More

The apartment that we were issued was listed as a "Harbour View". We were placed in a basement, with the only view being of a courtyard, which our glass door opened on to. This also proved to be the only place that smokers in the numerous adjoining apartments could go to to partake of their habit. This meant that we... More

Well well well where do start.... 3 lads wanting a fun couple of days no care in the world... Apartment was broken into with unforced entry (deffo had a key) random "maintenance guys " walked in and out when they wanted! The signs were there but we didn't read them, the safe was ripped off the wall and taken along... More

Travelled in a group of 6 friends in March 2015 and despite initially being hesitant after reading reports of burglaries we had a great time. We did mention our worries about the burglaries to the lady on the desk at the airport who was dealing with our check in, who did her best to reassure us that measures had been... More

We stayed in the harbour suite and it was a little I the small side! It wasn't as fresh looking as the picture but was clean! There was a little damp in the shower room but expected when there was no ventilation in there and was very small! I'm pretty sure someone came into our room whilst we had gone... More

Stayed in the 6 person apartment for 2 nights and had a brilliant time. There are a few points that need to be dealt with but otherwise it is perfect. Beware of the stairs (this is a split level apartment) they are tiny and steep and not ideal for when you're wearing heels! The WiFi in the entire block was... More

The positive, some of the apartments are actually quite nice and spacious. (Although in the apartment that I was in, the ceiling was at an angle right next to the bed so you had barely a single beds worth of space to sleep in as you're scared of headbutting the ceiling!) The negative, and why you should definitely not stay... More

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
