Stayed 5 nights in this hotel. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Trendy decoration and very calm near the park. The personnel was nice and helpful. The location is very good near the museums and at a walking distance from down town and main city attractions. Trams station is also close.

My friend and I visited Amsterdam in the spring and loved this hotel. It was close to everything we wanted and had a lovely view from the top floor. The room was rather large, especially considering the size of the rooms in London and Paris. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom nice , everything was clean so we were very... More

We stayed here for four nights recently in Room 401 on the top floor. The room was very large, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. It also overlooked the park. Facilities in the room included a sofa, TV,air conditioning and a kettle. Tea bags etc were replenished each day, as were towels and bathroom mat. True the shower had no door,... More

We were assigned a groundfloor/basement room, very small, next to reception. All noises from reception and street could be heard. Luckily the area is rather quiet. We asked for a better one, but apparently the hotel was fully booked. Bed had a foam rubber mattress and was very soft and narrow, which made sleeping rather challenging. Shower lacked curtains, so... More

The single room was small (I could just about touch both walls with my arms outstretched) but it had everything I needed. It wasn't like I was going to be hanging out in my room :-) The location was away from the city center which was a nice break from the crowds. There is a tram stop nearby and the... More

Stayed in a single room for two nights. The room was small but modern, although a wooden floor instead of a wall-to-wall carpet would have been even nicer. There was no mat to put on the floor after showering which was missing as the shower made the bathroom floor all wet. AC and wifi worked perfect. The room was on... More

A great hotel in a really good location. As the name suggests, it's right next door to a lovely park. It's a stones throw from Amsterdam's 'Fifth Avenue'. Easily within walking distance to the town centre. The staff were very friendly and helpful in arranging our early airport transfer.

The Parkview Hotel exceeded my expectations. The common areas and guest room were in perfect condition, well-decorated and had some lovely perks like heated floors in the bathroom. We had a corner room on the 2nd floor (3rd floor US) and it had a very nice view of Vondelpark. I have stayed in other boutique hotels of this price point... More

I had a room at ground floor level and was worried that it would be noisy but it's such a lovely quiet neighbourhood that I needn't have worried. Even though the room was small it was comfortable and clean and as a lone female traveller I felt safe. Only complaint was that the bath towels were small and a bit... More

The hotel is very clean, comfortable and modern located two blocks from museumplaain. Staff is helpful and kind. Great coffee shop coffee connection has homemade bakery items and delish yogert parfait. The wifi cannot hold a skype connection so it was not good for my business meeting, answering email ir booking online amusement tickets. You need to upgrade the speed

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
