Stayed for a weekend in amsterdam on the cheap, found this place online, the pictures seemed OK if basic. Our double room was more than acceptable had a comfy enough bed, a small tv and a great big window, luckily we were facing out onto the side street rather than the main street. Communal shower was OK. To be perfectly... More

Rude staff, stains all over the floors and wall of the staircase going up to the rooms. Filthy stained rooms, prison style showers and a general feeling that nothing left in you room was safe. After 11 happy visits to Amsterdam this is by far the worst place i have ever stayed in. Pay the extra and get somewhere else....it sucks... More

Myself and my friend Joe went to Amsterdam slightly apprehensive from some of the reviews we had read. When we arrived the staff were very helpful and despite the room not being ready, they advised us to go and chill out in the dampkring coffee shop over the road and she would call us when the room was ready!! We... More

Firstly I made the booking throughout an Internet site which charged me 30£ of commission, then after I booked I phoned the hotel to make sure that the reservation was in the system, the reservation manager got my call and I asked her if it was possible to have a twin because we were two guys and she said yes... I have stayed in lots of hotels guest houses ect and this is one that i didnt feel ripped off by the price and didnt feel like a squat. Lets face it amsterdam stair cases are very steep and the beds are long and narrow and the rooms usually stink of smoke lol, this hotel is 5 mins walk from... More

I cannot understand some of the reviews about this place, yes the rooms are small and basic but so is the "price". Amsterdam is an expensive place to find a hotel and i have stayed in a few, a lot further out and a lot more expensive. I have used this hotel twice now and will be staying again, the... More

We were fooled by the online pics, and when we got there, by the foyer. All good until you get your room. Paid up front, unfortunately. Turned out better to cancel out and lose money.

The only positive things were -the location, close to central station -the quiet Otherwise, this is hard to find a positive thing to say about this hotel. The price was cheaper than other hotels but the value for money was terrible, I had much better experiences in unpretentious backpackers. First, the rooms were not nice at all. I wonder when... Before i go into detail i must say we were treated well by the staff who were very nice. Now lets get into the nitty gritty i believe this place to be a helth and saftey issue with its steep narrow stairs, no fire exit and no lifts. As for the rooms it felt as if i was spending a... More

A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.
