We were lucky to get a booking at asterisk during Easter break as all other accommodations were full to the brim. Was abit pricey but was expected given the season. Location was better than expected. Only 700m from leidseplein and all the museums and canals. Short walk to nearest tram station. Hotel was overall small. Rooms were large enough but... More

I just needed a place to stay for a couple of days. I stayed on the 3rd floor. this place is 2 houses converted into a hotel. Its in a nice quiet residential area. Its close to the Heineken experience It has just been renovated. Its clean and small and it served its purpose. the staff is very nice and... More

We come here as a group from work each year for 10-11 days for a tradeshow and have used this hotel for 4-5 years now. The rooms have greatly improved over that time from being quite dated to being smart with excellent bathrooms with great showers. The beds are also very comfortable which is unusual for Netherlands and very good.... More

The hotel is in a walking distance from all main places which you should visit in Amsterdam. Breakfast was really good as for such level hotel. I also enjoyed pillows - they were big and soft. Single person apartments were very tiny. I also was not lucky to get room in the uppermost floor so my room was next to... More

Really enjoyed our stay here, reasonable space in rooms and bathroom and very friendly staff. Only complaints are the shower temperature would not go above 38 degrees which was far too cold for winter and there are no lifts for baggage, had to be dragged up the 3 very steep and narrow staircases. Not ideal for unfit or weaker travellers.... More

This structure has many pros, as from the other reviews, but also a con: unfortunately rooms were very noisy and we were awaken several times per night (everytime someone passed in front of our door). On the other hand, location is good, in a quiet street, not so far from the city center, which can be explored also on foot.... More

This is possibly the worst hotel I've stayed at when it comes to value for money. I know that Amsterdam has expensive accomendation, but if everything is this bad, I feel sorry for everyone planning a vacation in this city. Here's what I think of Asterisk: Good: -The location is fine, with the city center and rijksmuseum within walking distance.... More

Dear guest, Thank you for your review. I am sorry that your friend was not impressed by our decoration. I can reveal to you that we quite agree and that is why we are renovating all of our rooms the next years.
