Hotel Asterisk is a no frills 2 star hotel.Helpful staff and an OK breakfast. The rooms are small but clean. The shared WC is clean but both soap dispensers were empty for 3 days.I thought the surveillance cameras in the dining room were too intrusive and totally unnecessary.

We spent four nights at the Hotel Asterisk in early October and our experience was the same as related by Conwegian below. Our double deluxe room faced the street but there was very little street noise when the windows were sealed. When you wanted them open, they open fully and there are no screens. The furnishings and decor are basic... More

An OK basic hotel. You get what you pay for. OK breakfast with everything you need. Bread, honey, yogurt, eggs, ... (No bacon, no scrambled eggs). The room was very basic but OK. In a quiet street. Stayed there for three nights.

This hotel made our stay in Amsterdam amazing! The staff were very friendly and helpful (when we arrived the receptionist went above and beyond spending plenty of time giving us his personal favourites to see in the city). The room was huge (like an apartment) with an outside courtyard! Clean and modern rooms! Amazing value for the price. The daily... More

I came here with my girlfriend and stayed for 3 nights in a very comfortable twin room. There were two single beds in the room, but we pushed them together and they were very comfortable. The hotel is a five minute walk from the Heineken experience, which is a good afternoon to do, and in terms of getting your bearings... More

We go to Amsterdam pretty frequently - If you need a good room, at a good price, with a great breakfast - that is not too close to Centraal - then this should be a great hotel for you. It is also very close to the Museumplein and the front desk will sell you tickets in advance so you don't... More

Hotel Asterisk is a good choice if you are looking for something quiet but still convenient. It's on a side street, so traffic noise is minimal. It is a very easy walk to the museums, including the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, and reception sells tickets so you can skip the lines. From the central station it is an... More

This is a fine budget hotel. I was in a single with a private bath - the room was small (to be expected), but in decent condition. Note: the walls are rather than, and you can hear people going up and down the narrow stairs. Breakfast in the morning was nice given what you're paying for the room. It's located... More

I stayed here for one night on a budget as a deal popped up at the last minute that I could not turn down. The room I had was small but the communal bathroom was surprisingly clean. The breakfast they served in the morning was limited so I left somewhat hungry. The hotel is located close to a few parks... More
