I titled my review "Better elsewhere" because I think you could find a comparable hotel for the same or better price closer to the center of Amsterdam and save walking time. The quality was average but there is no way this place could get away with their prices in most cities. A room like this would cost much less in... more

I have stayed in Amsterdam for six days for a conference. I booked the single room with private shower in the Asterisk hotel because it seemed to be a good price. The room was clean and breakfast was good. However I was very disappointed when I learned about the hotel's WiFi policy. Asterisk charged 5 Euros for using their WiFi... more

I stayed in a spacious room which is part of the hotel but a couple doors down. Had my own toilet and bath. The great thing is it is close walking distance to the museums and just a 20 minute walk to downtown Amsterdam or you can take the trams which are in walking distance to the hotel. The only problem... more

The hotel was super easy to get to, and was within walking distance of many of the attractions. Anything that was farther away was easily reachable via tram or canal bus, both having stops very close by. The single room was very small, but clean. If you don't spend a lot of time in the room, it serves it's purpose.... more

After our brief encounter with a shoebox in Paris, we were most delighted with the spacious, bright and airy room (a comfortable size for three) when we arrived at Hotel Asterisk. We thoroughly appreciated its location on a quiet residential street near Weteringcircuit - certainly a relief from the hustle and bustle of Damrak. Yet it's minutes (by tram) or... more

We stayed at Asterisk during Queensday and it was great! Rooms are nice, clean and large enough. The only problem was, that you are not allowed to smoke in the room and there wasn't any balcony, but we managed:) It's in a beautifull small quiet street across the canal from Heineken in a walking distance to all the atractions. Staff... more

The good things about this hotel are that it’s in a quiet location of Amsterdam but within walking distance to many of the attractions. A couple of different tram lines also stop nearby to take you to attractions further afield. The breakfast which was included in the rate was also good in that there was quite a bit of variety... more

I stayed in this hotel with my family on 22nd March, 2009 for 2 days and it was a great stay. The reception was very helpful and informative. The rooms are clean, spacious and he even arrange the rooms at ground floor so that my parents don't have to climb up the stairs. I really appreciate that. The location is... more

Husband & self had a long weekend here. Location is excellent - very quiet road (apart from cats yowling outside 2 nights out of 3!), easy walk to Albert Cuyp (market, Surinamese restaurants), museums etc. Trams 16, 24, 25 from Centraal Station. We know Amsterdam reasonably well, & some years back stayed in another hotel across the road. The Asterisk... more

It is located right next to a tram stop and the Heineken brewery and also the Van Gogh museum and also the Hard Rock Cafe which are all within walking distance. It is a quiet hotel on a little street and you... more
