Booked well in advance for September. Two days before, received an email providing a door code for downstairs and room entry. Entered through a tiny, dark entrance, tiny claustrophobic lift. Room was dirty, smelled bad, air conditioning wasn't working, shower was leaking, furniture (what little there was) was scuffed, scratched and cheap. There was no brasserie downstairs: seems to have... More

This hotel is well situated in a shopping street near to Vondel park and a number of the famous galleries/museums. There is no reception desk at the hotel and you require lengthy pass codes to enter the building and your room. The pass codes did not work on my arrival which meant having to make a phone call to get... More

We didn't stay in this hotel but a few blocks away at the Conservatorium hotel where breakfast is charged at 50 Euro pp...... So we found this place to have a breakfast at a more reasonable price. Which we did. Of course not a sumptuous buffet, but a fine breakfast complete with boiled egg, cheese, ham, croissant, toast and excellent... More

My girlfriend had booked this and was worried afterwards because of the not so good reviews it was getting on here. Ok yes an unusual way to check into the hotel by going to the restaurant downstairs to gain entry to the hotel but a simple check-in to our room where everything was clean, nicely presented, in working order and... By giving this venue a 3 star rating I am being somewhat slack, in that I did enjoy my stay here with my gf, however I have to agree with a number of reviews that have highlighted a disparity in the service provided by the staff. Upon arrival, it is not made immediately obvious that you are to check in... More

Check in was at the Restaurant and we were ushered to the door and was advised to go to the 1st floor by the restaurant staff for check in. When we got there, the person sitting behind the desk was so rude and told us that check in was at the restaurant. we told him that we were instructed to... More

Me and my boyfriend stayed at this hotel from 7th-11th October 2013. Before we went we was a little aprehensive due to the bad reviews however i would not say it is as bad as some are making out. Yes it is very basic, there are no drink making facilities in the room, but that wasn't too much of an... More

We used the Park + Ride facility and parked our car outside the center after we had dropped off our luggage at Boutique Hotel Maxime in the PC Hooftstraat. From P+R, tram nr 2 brought us to the Rijksmuseum, which is around the corner the hotell. The hotel room consists of a comfortable bed, clean shower and loo, everything that... More

I visited this restaurant for lunch on Sunday the 8th September, the place was fairly busy, but this is no surprise given the restaurants location in P C Hooftstraat, which is full of designer shops, and I have to say there are some beautiful and expensive shops in this street. Having said that, Maxime is not that special. Tables are... More
