If you are visiting and looking for a place to lay your head down then this is it, but don't expect anything more. The lift was not working at all, and by looking at older reviews I would say its out for a while. Luckily we only had a small bag each, but it can become a problem if you... More

Having just come back from Amsterdam I have to give The Armada Hotel a full rating . It had the most fantastic views of the river with pretty boats and houses . It was cheap and the room was clean and functional with tv, shower , radiator (which might I add was switched on ) comfortable beds and very helpful... More

I've stayed in worse hotels, but not for decades. This hotel was over-priced and had many faults: 1. Though we'd paid in advance the stand-in receptionist tried to charge us for the full amount, not just the city tax. 2. The lift was out of order in November (another reviewer reported this in July) and it was 60 steps to... More

Rm 356. Non smoking but smelt of smoke. 2 single beds pushed together. 1 was very soft the other rock hard. The room was very small. Door won't lock. Asked for TV remote but not given one. Free wifi doesn't work except in lobby. Shower head came off, also a spray of water sprays into your eye! Hairdryer useless. Water... More

Just recently stayed at this hotel Friday 4th September 2015 to Saturday 5th. Went with a few friends. We turned up at the hotel unannounced as we had no rooms booked and went searching for hotels all through Amsterdam and only this hotel had a room free. Paid €195 for one room with 4 single beds crammed in together. Rooms... More

The only good thing that can be said is the central and pretty location. Not so nice is the fact that the hotel has a pub next door, which is open late also during the week and seats people outdoors. Right in front of the thin (!) windows of the room. Beds are bad. Room not properly dusted, shower drain... More

The decision to stay here came down to price and location. The hotel was clean but very basic. Location is great and I paid about the same as I would have for a much nicer more modern hotel near the airport. Staff was friendly. Internet was reliable in my experience. I was even able to use it in the cafe... More

Definitely not a royal palace but it's good enough. Ups: good location, good price, temperature in rooms is very comfortable, shower is nice, our room had a nice view on the canal, room was kept clean. Downs: no breakfast (there is only a little coffee machine on the ground floor that you can use whenever you want, and some tables... More

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.
