My sister was visiting from the States, so we had to make the obligatory Amsterdam trip. We weren't sure if we would stay overnight and had previewed a few options online. When we arrived in Amsterdam we found we had arrived on the eve of one of Amsterdams' biggest celebrations, "Queensday". We looked into a few hotels & hostels but... more

In the summer of 2008, my mother and myself stayed 3 weeks in the sphereful Hotel Museumzicht in the Jan Luykenstraat in Amsterdam. This hotel is situated in the most wanted area, for houses, in Amsterdam. The style of the hotel is like the old canal-houses, inside you feel immediately as if it is your own house. The staff is... more

Amsterdam classic architecture upstairs to a Rijksmuseum view. The stairs make you smile and the spotlessly clean rooms greet you with cheery bed covers. Each room is filed with antique desks, pictures and wardrobes. Breakfast is served in room with a view and the best coffee to be found in a hotel anywhere. The Wi-Fi connection is free and fast.... more

This was perfect hotel for us! Not luxurious but very homey. The room wasn't huge but big enough. Breakfast is served in nice salon with flowers and good views. Staff is very friendly and ready to give you tips where to go. If you are lucky you can have a little play with owner's 10-years-old dog Jacki. (Everybody is talking... more

We have had a great weekend staying at this little hotel. The room was clean and nicely decorated with antique furniture. We especially loved the view over the museumplein. It's a bit of a climb (no elevator), but well worth it! There is art and antiques everywhere, and the breakfastroom alone is like a little museum. more

I am surprised to find these very negative reviews for this hotel. It is one of the cheapest hotels in Amsterdam, but it is definetely not a dump. I had a bunch of adresses when i arrived in Amsterdam. Unfortunately all the hostels where full. But at Museumzicht the had a room for a very decent price (not much more... more

I have stayed in Amsterdam for two to three weeks every year since 2002, including this year, and always chosen this hotel as if it was my second home. I happened to know of the hotel when I searched for hotels which offered most reasonable prices and had a homey atmosphere at a tourist information center near Amsterdam Centraal railway... more

There are many small buildings site in Amsterdam. Such a building always have steep stairs. This hotel is so, too. When you open the door, you see the steep stairs. I think it's just like Amsterdam! Though you have to go up the stairs, the worker of the hotel may help you if you need. This hotel is very near... more

Me and my Fiancee stayed at Museumzicht for three nights. Great location and view, the rooms are simple, but the atmosphere is very nice. Very dutch and authentic, beautiful old building. The staff was friendly and had some great inside information about where to go in the city. We loved the breakfast room and the 'ontbijtkoek'! Most of all, location,... more
