After my recent stay in Sept., (I'd been here four years ago, but neglected to post a review at that time on what a gem I'd found),....I realized I HAD to praise the exceptionally friendly and helpful hosts, Vlad and Ken,.....the beautifully appointed and spotless room, delightful view, delicious breakfast (meeting other fascinating travellers),, and wonderful convenient location. Walk to... more

My wife & I stayed here for 2nights. Everything was great from start to finish. Vlad & Ken helped with directions from the airport to the hotel & offered suggestions. We took the train (3.80euro) & its only a 10min walk.. but we got a bit lost! The room was very nice, we stayed in the "heron" house, very nice... more

We spent 2 nights at Maes in early October. The location is perfect for Amsterdam. It's located just outside the center of town (10 minute walk to Dam Square), but across a canal in a quieter residential neighbourhood with loads of great restaurants and shopping just steps away. It's also about a 10 minute walk to Central Station and about... more

This review is actually from a year ago, but this was such a nice affordable bed and breakfast, I felt compelled to write a review that might help travelers choose a great place to stay for their trip to amsterdam. The rooms were spacious, modern, and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable and large. Something to note, in the... more

Aloha from Hawaii. My husband and stayed at Maes (actually their other property Heren two doors down) for two nights during our recent vacation and we want to echo the other glowing reviews for this terrific B & B. Ken and Vlad are terrific host--gracious, accommodating, and fun to talk with. They were extremely helpful from the start of our... more

Great place and perfect location for a trip to Amsterdam. I had the 3rd floor room: just like having my own apartment. Great sitting area and a comfortable bed. Location is near Dam Square, Central Station and the museums. Everything was within walking distance. Ken and Vlad answered all our questions and made reservations for dinner and trips to Brussels... more

We stayed three nights. By far the nicest room and B&B (or small hotel) that we stayed at over our 13 day trip through Belgium and Holland. Ken and Vlad are very gracious. The breakfast table was excellent. Comfortable bed. We had the 2nd floor (1st floor I suppose by european terminology) in the back of the house. Great view... more

The Preparation and Arrival: Maes B & B offers the home base for an incredible Amsterdam experience. I found this gem online and emailed Ken and Vlad to plan my stay. They are responsive and organized with the details of planning a trip. Upon arrival into Schipol, I pulled out my page of emailed instructions from Ken and Vlad re... more

Really enjoyed staying here for four nights recently. If you are looking for B&B accommodation in Amsterdam I wouldn't bother looking anywhere else - just stay here. It's excellent. As others have said, it's like staying with a friend. We would definitely return. It has reaffirmed our desire to avoid hotels and stay in nice B&Bs as much as possible.... more

I always use this title when I am greatly overwhelmed with anything in my life. I spent 4 days at this place & every thing written by the previous travelers were absolutely correct. We have been coming from a three days trip to Paris so we needed to relax in Amsterdam. From the first moment, Vlad helped us in discovering... more
