The rooms are impeccable and well stocked. The host Christian was warm and welcoming. He was happy to guide us on how we could plan our stay better and get the maximum out of our visit to the vibrant Amsterdam. He was also a great conversationalist and shared quite a many travel experiences. The breakfast was fresh and served piping... More

Simply amazing. This B&B has some rooms and, I think, we were lucky to take the camera with a fantastic view, in front of the canal. We've been in Amsterdam for 3 days and we've had 2 special breakfasts which have been made by Bartek. Bartek gives to your holyday a special touch, 'cause shares to you his advices on... More

Wonderful stay at this fabulously clean B and B. We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived by Christian. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice and a lovely surprise to get a birthday cake at breakfast (although Christian wouldn't sing!). Nice quiet location and a short walk to the main attractions which Christian was... More

I could not be more pleased with my stay at the Town House. The rooms are very modern and attractive, and the bed is large and comfortable. Christian, the owner, provides a wonderful breakfast spread with a variety of meats, cheeses and breads and also prepares eggs to your order. He is also very gracious and friendly and ready to... We stayed for one night in June, but wish it had been a few more! The room was perfect, modern, great size and a wonderful view of a canal. Found the pin entry system great, no need to keep track of a key card. The stairs were steep but no issue for two 20-somethings. The best part of our stay... More

If you are looking for a VERY clean and contemporary place to stay while in Amsterdam, I would recommend TownHouse-Inn. It is a bed and breakfast style property in a quiet residential section of the "Centrum" district. Christian is a very conscientious host who knows his city well and is only too happy to assist you in getting the most... More

This is a wonderful establishment with a fabulous host - Christian. The rooms are beautifully decorated and well equipped with coffee maker, kettle, fridge, hairdryer and TV. The breakfast is continental and is beautifully presented with various fresh high quality foods. Christian is also very informative on places to visit and provides a map with great directions. Make sure you... More

Really enjoyed our stay at The Townhouse-Inn! Christian the owner was very hospitable and supplied great Info on Amsterdam. Located 15 minutes walk from central station on a lovely canal the location and aesthetics were just what we hoped for. We will be returning next year

Location was perfect for us. 20 min walk from central station, easy access to the city centre and surrounded by a handful of quieter cafes and restaurants. We had the front 1st floor room which overlooked traditional Dutch architecture across the canal. The room was small with a small ensuite shower room but don't confuse small with bad. It was... Recently purchased a 3 night stay at the Inn for an Anniversary present for my in-laws. My father in law is notoriously hard to please and he raved about the Inn so much, he demanded I leave a review. He said Christian and the staff could not have done enough for him and his wife during their stay, from helping... More

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
