Location is amazing. The best. Literally 5 minutes away from the station. Atmosphere was really fun. People, I mean the other guests, were really chilled and friendly and I made some nice friends during my stay. Even went out exploring with a couple of them. But I think I was really lucky because not everyone was very approachable. Staff were... More

Very easy walk from the station but our room (18man dorm) was just a bit grotty and smelly as there were always people passed out at all times of the day so the curtains and windows were never opened. We visited other hostels nearby which were much nicer...Deffo have a look around for more!

This is the place to stay in Amsterdam! A friend and I stayed here for 4 nights and we weren't expecting much but were pleasantly surprised. We had such a great time staying here, the staff are friendly and helpful and we met lots of great people also staying in the hostel. The location is perfect-- walking distance from all... More

I've stayed in my fair share of hostels, and this one definitely tops the list. When looking for hostels, this isn't one you would pick for a quiet reclusive time, instead you get a lively friendly and all together excellent hostel. Good location, great staff who all seem to love the city and the hostel as much as we all... More

We stayed here for two nights. Really good location - close to train station and shops/Restaurants. We had trouble with our room key 3 times during our stay - we got locked out. This was a bit annoying as we had to run to reception every time. Staff really relaxed maybe too much as they did not really assist me... More

I spent a week at the flying pig at the end of April and I had the privilege of being there for Queens day. It was amazing. The flying pig exceeded my expectations and they were very high. I will now list my favorite parts of it in a concise manner: First, the staff was very friendly and were quick... More

This place was just excellent. The staff were so nice and so helpful. The rooms were clean and cleans daily. They had awesome locked under the bed that made me feel my stuff was really safe. Their breakfast was good. And for free you can't complain. The bar was awesome and had a great atmosphere, the bar tenders were nice.... More

There are a lot of really good things about this hostel. The staff are friendly and helpful (GET THE VAN GOGH MUSEUM PASS!), the place is locked down and secure for guests, and is centrally located. On the flip side, you have to sleep in downtown Amsterdam, which you really shouldn't be doing if you're planning on sleeping. This is... More

The double bunk option is great. As a couple we wanted to stay together but stay in a cheap dorm. Love the free beer if you've been before (I had). Smoking room with pillow stage awesome. Great simple breakfast. Very safe an secure. Great location. Our dorm also had access to small courtyard area underneath the balcony of the smoking... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
