Suits several tastes - combines art gallery with private collection of feline curiousities but great also if you fancy a nosey inside a grand canal house. Take your time, it is calm and peaceful. There are of course real cats snoozing on sofas, getting in serious zzzzs. A great place to step out of the touristy bustle.

This is a really special place which doesn't deserve the negative reviews. The museum itself is an eclectic collection of cat artwork, it contains various pieces ranging from sculptures to posters to costumes to paintings. The space itself is very aesthetically pleasing and quaint and you feel as though the owner has put a lot of care into crafting such... More

I have a cat, and I love animals in general, so when I heard about Katten Kabinet, I had to visit! It is, at the time of writing, €7 per adult to get in. Although it does not take too long to see everything in there, it is a beautiful place with some weird and wonderful pieces of art. The... More

We loved the kattenkabinet. Admission felt slightly steep at the start however the wonderfully helpful staff and neat gift shop helped to justify the price in the end. Also super interesting to curious travelers, as visiting this museum also gives you a neat glimpse into a huge, beautiful house right in the middle of amsterdam. Wonderful place that I would... I am a cat lover so thought a trip to Kattenkabinet was a must however I think the entrance fee is expensive for the small exhibition and I only stayed for about 20 minutes. The interior of the building is beautiful which is an added bonus but I would only recommend a visit to people really interested in cat art!

I loved this museum. I think my husband who is not an absolute cat freak, also loved this museum which boasts of even having a Rembrandt and a mummified cat. I think the art work changes from time to time as I did not see some of the art in the pictures posted here. It is relativity small, but there... More

The cat museum was interesting....if you are a crazy cat lady. We were there for 15 minutes and not really sure it was worth the price of the tickets. However, we did find a friendly kitty sitting in the window of the gift shop who was very amenable to pets and scratching - so that was somewhat worth the trip!

If, like my boyfriend, you are a crazy cat person or you're into art, like myself, then this museum is an absolute must. It's a great little collection and a fantastic opportunity to see inside a lovely canal house. We felt the entrance fee was very reasonable and spent a fair bit of time in there. I don't think we... I was pleasantly surprised at how good this museum was. It is a must for cat lovers as if you don't like cats or are indifferent, it probably isn't for you. The best part was the real cat who just wanted to be loved.
