A beautiful historic building with contemporary but cosy rooms, the Conservatorium is a super chic base from which to explore Amsterdam. I thought the hotel was completely faultless and my friend and I were really sad to leave! The lovely staff deserve a special mention for making us feel so welcome and at home - nothing was too much trouble.... More

Amazing hotel! By all means the best hotel I've ever stayed in Amsterdam. The staff is extremely helpful and attentive, the rooms are stunning and comfortable. It's a tasty luxury in the heart of Amsterdam. Located steps away from the Museum Square, it's right in the centre of Amsterdam. Would definitely return.

From arrival to departure we have experienced the Conservatorium hotel as a paradise in the heart of the city. The area is amazing and full with the city's best museums on walking distance and the hotel is also beautifully designed. The very friendly lady at the front desk made us feel at home and escorted us to our spacious deluxe... More

From checkin to checkout this hotel is an institution, not only a hotel. The stuff is very professional, and friendly. All of them are remembering your name, your birthday. In the restaurants they know from the first day what you drink, how you drink, what you like what you don't like. The Consierge desk is very very professional. One call,... More

Stayed here for one romantic night to celebrate our anniversary. This is probably one of the best and nicest hotels in Amsterdam at a great location in the city centre. Incredible building and architecture, amazing service, beautiful suites! Must see, must go.

We had a company even with our spouses at the Conservatorium. The hotel is really top class with excellent common areas, rooms and restaurants. The food, drinks and service were all great. And the gym was a full size with great equipment.

It is rare to have high tech amenities in an European hotel that also has a lot of history. Conservatorium Hotel successfully marries both high tech and old world charm. Our booking was upgraded to a Deluxe Guest Room from a Duplex Guest Room via Leader's club. The room has a very good layout with a lot of closet space... More

The staff all smiles and tried to help throughout, the service is poor not for lack of trying but because of a lack of leadership and management.... As simple as that. This place needs care and attention... So many things went wrong, from day one, on our late arrival on a dark rainy evening, the door man stood by with... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
