This was my third visit. This hotel never disappoints. Attentive staff. Great rooms. Excellent breakfast. The breakfast buffet is always spot on. Try the spinach, apple and ginger juice. They will provide gluten free bread and toast if you ask. This is my favourite hotel in Amsterdam. Great location.

Only popped in for a gin and tonic. It was excellent. A little like a goldfish bowl with lots of lime. Not cheap but didn't look or taste cheap so well worth it. Staff very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back to try the rooms out next time

The service from the entire staff is superb. Unfortunately, my travel companion suffered an injury while in the city and had to be briefly hospitalized. The entire staff from the doormen to the front desk were informed of this and did everything they could to assist me in making arrangements for a flight back to the U.S. I couldn't have... More

Upscale hotel , chic and sophisticated with an awesome customer service . I went with my friends for the second time to Amsterdam and stayed at this hotel again as we had a wonderful experience the first time. The staff is super friendly and helpful at all times, it's very close to the shopping district .. They have a nice... More

Located strategically in the new high end area of Amsterdam the hotel is within walking distance of the main museums of Amsterdam, and the posh shopping street, and the main tram line just outside the lobby. There is really nothing I can complain about the location. Inside, you will see where the hotel gets its name from. It used to... More

I have never been to Amsterdam before but chose to stay in the Conservatorium due to its proximity to the museums and city centre shopping and restaurants and of course it's reviews. The staff are amazing. Friendly and helpful without being overly familiar. The hotel is spacious and modern without feeling cold. The building is a renovated bank with lots... More

Lovely hotel situated in the quiet museumplein area. We had a 5th floor suite, spacious and tastefully decorated with fantastic large windows. From the extensive choice of pillows, crisp white sheets on a comfy bed to the welcoming bowl of fruit and slippers, we were well looked after. The hotel service was impeccable. Friendly staff who couldn't do enough for... More

From the moment you arrive, you know you're in for a real treat. Service and staff are excellent and more than happy to assist you with any questions and providing recommendations. The lobby is bright and airy, modern and impressive. The bar is sleek. Be sure to try a (fish bowl size) gin and tonic. We were very lucky in... More

We have been everywhere during the last three years and we have stayed at some fantastic places...as the netherlands goes, this is awesome...and the price versus the other fantastic euro hotels is relatively inexpensive. Must try the specialty gin and tonics---the copperhead was my favorite...orange and coriander, (that's cilantro for us Yanks.) And the sushi restaurant is very good as... More

Probably the nicest big hotel in Amsterdam. Quite expensive, but the loft suites are worth it. Excellent restaurant and bar. Adjacent to the Van Gogh museum and the "un-amsterdam" luxury bling shopping street. Might not return as there are many great options that feel more like Amsterdam. Oh, and expect to see German footballers. They seem to like this hotel.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
