We found the staff at King Hotel very friendly and most helpful. Always there with a pleasant smile and efficient. I was there with my family and had two rooms, both roomsre we got were of very high standard and made our stay most pleasant and comfortable. What we paid was a fraction of similar hotels in Amsterdam with the... more

Myself and my girlfriend stayed in The King hotel, Amsterdam from the 18th Aug until 21st Aug of this year. As most people do, we arrived at Centraal Station from the airport and decided that we would try and find the hotel on foot. To say the least this wasn't as easy as it was initially anticipated. If you are... more

When we arrived they had a double booked for us but said the room may be small so let us also check a twin - twin was much bigger so we chose this one. After a day or so I had several mosquito bites. I only asked the reception to make sure what bites they were and they moved us... more

Don’t stay here, its dirty, smelly and very unfriendly. The rooms are very very small, you have to stand on the bed so you can open the wardrobe. We had to go to the pharmacy to get bug cream we had so many bug bites. Its not very clean , the bed covers had cigarette holes in them even though... more

The hotel customer service was alright, I was happy to overlook it since the location was good. The room itself was fine, the sinks are a bit badly placed and you can barely put your face near it. All was ok except for when my friend and I had to assist the front desk girl in trying to get the... more

Hotel: Along an untrafficked bend of one of Amsterdam's canals, King's Hotel is a simple budget hotel that I stopped into without reservation one Friday night due to a change in plan. A narrow canal house, steep steps wind up each floor. An elevator exists also. No lobby, only a small reception desk. Budget and basic. Rooms: Mid-sized for Europe.... more

I booked a weekend in Amsterdam for a Christmas present for my husband. The travel agent recommend this one for the location. I was slightly worried about the 3 star rating but as it had been recommended then thought it would be ok. When we arrived the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was room 2 and... more

We ended up with an unexpected layover in Amsterdam. At the airport here is a kiosk with all these hotels advertised. You choose a hotel, pick up this phone and dial the number of the hotel you chose. Upon arriving at the hotel we, too had to buzz the front door. As this is not a custom I'm used to... more

We booked this hotel because it was cheap and near the Leidesplein. It was exactly what I expected i.e no frills at all but the room was very clean and tidy. The weather was snowy and very cold but our room was lovely and warm to come back to. I also liked the shower. more

On the weekend of 5th to 9th September 2008 I stayed at the King Hotel in Leidesplein Amsterdam along with my partner, my son and his young (17) girlfriend. We were pleasantly surprised by the location, comfort, value and cleanliness of the hotel. Located on a canal and very near nightlife, tram routes, boat excursion stops, good eateries and bars,... more
