Just got back from here was amazing perfect location and staff are really nice. Even the beds were sooooo comfy can't wait to come back to bull dog. Only thing I could say negative would be breakfast wich is cheese n ham toasties but tbh me and my friends were happy and that would be me looking for something.

We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay and our "marshmallow" beds! Thank you for the feedback regarding breakfast. We believe there is quite a good selection of items but we are always looking to improve this. Hopefully you will notice these improvements when you return. Thanks a lot for the review! :) More

me and my partner are frequent visitors of the bulldog- this was our 4th time- this time staying with friends.....(tell them it's the Scottish guy and the drunk girl from Saturday night) and I just wanted to say that once again, they exceeded expectations. You have a lady working for you (night shifts) who wears a bandana always- shes a... More

Stayed here over new year for 5 nights. They have sharing rooms with up to 12 people sharing but myself and 2 friends stayed in the triple room. The room: Had 2 single beds and a pull out 3rd bed - when the 3rd bed was pulled out there was little to no space at all to move around. The... More

First of all, a bit of tourist trivia which is important for everyone to know before they start exploring Amsterdam. There are multiple venues in Amsterdam sharing the name "Bulldog" and its eponymous logo. This one is the hostel (or hotel if you please) so if someone says that "they stayed at the Bulldog", they are referring to this location.... More

Hello, We are sure you will find that 30.00 euro's is a very competitive price in the centre of Amsterdam. As for the regulations you mention, these are not ours, they are from the Government which restricts tobacco smoking in all pubs and bars in The Netherlands. We are , of course, subjected to random inspections by the authorities to... More

The location is great in the middle of the RLD near alot of restaurants, coffee shops etc. Room: My room was average, outdated interior needs some updating with better looking walls, artwork to go with the nice lobby. The lockers are also like school lockers, should get better ones. Room size was good, bigger than most hostels in the Centrum... More

Not the best hostel I've stayed in !! Bunk beds old and the room in general was a bit run down. We stayed in a 12 bed mixed dorm with two internal bathrooms. Constant noise of others going to the toilet during the night . Average hostel but good location !!

Thanks for the review, the location is great! is to be expected when you stay in a room with 12 people that there might be some disturbances in the night and early morning. You could always drop by the reception and ask for some ear plugs! More

Hostel : Cheap budget and exactly what it says on the tin! Can be smelly as you share with other travellers however for the price if you just need a bed to crash out on its worth it....but if you have a large group its recommended as you will all be in same room......the hotel also has a 24/7 bar... Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
