- Breakfast served every morning - Simple interior - A place just for sleeping (no pool, fancy bar etc.) - In the beautiful, quiet Jordaan area of Amsterdam - Probably the CHEAPEST accommodation for families that you'll find... - Surrounded by quirky vintage shops, bakeries and restaurants (plus there's an American Apparel down the road) - Overall very good!

If you are looking for a place in Amsterdam only to sleep, Acacia may be a good choice. It's in the Jordan district, 10 min walk to the city center. The rooms are clean, decoration is nice but it's too small to stay with the big luggages. Also after 10 pm, the reception is closed, and the staff is not... More

It takes about 15 minutes to get to Acacia Hotel on foot from the main Railaway Station, so the location is quite good. And what was most important for us, far away from the Old Town, with hundred of coffeshops and noisy tourists. There are many restaurants, pubs and more quiet coffeshops around this neighberhood. The breakfast in the hotel... More

Yeah, it's cheap. Yeah, it's in a cool, fun, safe neighborhood. Yeah, it's across the street from a canal. So, what's the problem? This place is a dump. My freshmen dorm in college was about 10x nicer. It is old, dated, dirty, and generally uninspiring. When I opened the door to my room, I instantly regretted that I tried to... More

The Hotel Acacia is off the beaten path, but in a very charming neighborhood in NW Amsterdam (Jordaan District). Certainly walkable, but probably 15 mins from the city center. Absolutely do not book this hotel if you have trouble with excruciatingly steep stairs (note: during our stay, we saw several people gingerly descending the staircase backwards, for safety and stability).... While the neighborhood surrounding restaurants and shops are great, the Acacia itself leaves much to be desired. We expect steep stairs and small rooms as they come with the locale, but the Acacia is more of a really bad college dorm room than a hotel room. The rooms are badly appointed, from the shoddy worn and dirty carpets to the cracked... I read the other reviews before I booked this hotel and selected this hotel for reasons I give below. The only good comments I can make are (1) the hotel is nicely located on the far edge of the Jordaan district in a quiet area and (2) the room rate was inexpensive and included a small but adequate breakfast.
