Don't go to this hotel! We stayed in a room at the top floor. The stairs were terrible and the interior in the room was ugly, especially the bathroom. We left the room early in the mornings and came back as late as possible in the evenings, because we didn't want to spend any time there. In the breakfast room,... more

My sister and I stayed at the Acacia last week, June 24-27 2009. I wish I coud give a better review, but we were not impressed. The major problem was that our bathroom smelled like urine and mold, even after it was cleaned by the staff each morning. Unfortunately, that smell came into the bedroom as well. The bathroom was... more

We rented a studio in Hotel Acacia for five nights. The studio was on ground level, so every morning we could bring our chairs outside to have coffee by the canal. The room is simple, a bit worn down with out dated colours etc, but very clean. Ok breakfast in a cosy breakfast room. Quiet neighbourhood with nice people and... more

Stayed here twice over the past few years. The location is great, lovely district and an easy and uplifting walk to the centre. Our triple room was a good size and had a nice view of the city, with a spotless bathroom. Our room was on the top floor up 4 flights of incredibly steep stairs so not for the... more

On the outside, Acacia Hotel looks like your typical, charming, family-run European hotel, but step into the hotel's one of two houseboats and you'll be in for a major disappointment. I had originally opted for the houseboat rental because the website pictured a cozy-looking, clean and private houseboat. There was even a kitchenette and "central heating". Much to our dismay,... more

My husband and I stayed in the modern houseboat during our 3 night stay in August. The houseboat is very spacious. There is a mini kitchen. There are sliding glass doors that open up on to the small canal. Not many boats go by, it's mainly really cute ducks swimming by. I thought it would be a bit more posh... more

I went to this hotel in april and stayed there for 4 nights.... I was with my girlfriend and it was a very pleasant staying I have to say! I booked the hotel calling them from Italy and It was very simple: booked the room, made a bank transfer and then they confirmed the room. Whe booked the MODERN HOUSEBOAT... more

After being told we MUST stay in their houseboats from a previous guest, I have to say we were disappointed. The modern houseboat we were in was not really a houseboat in my eyes; it was simply a building built on top of a floating concrete pier. I would rather have saved the 15 Euro a night and stayed in... more

The first thing that you notice about Acacia is the smell. Though it’s not very unpleasant (it’s probably just their cleaning liquid) it’s a sickly sweet, slightly stale smell that stays with you through your trip. I can still smell it if I open my bags at home. The best thing about Acacia is its location – on the edge... more

After a dreadful experience at the Belle Suite Apartment where we were supposed to have stayed, we had a wonderful time here! The staff at the desk were approachable, friendly and helpful. We knew from looking in the travel books that this hotel was in a cheaper-to- stay bracket, but it was clean & tidy and didn't pretend to be... more
