Super comfortable beds and duvets, friendly staff, books in the main room, fresh and delicious breakfast with unlimited coffee (10 euros for adults, 5 for kids), free stocked mini bar (what a great idea!). Well located near the Zoo and Plantage, but 20 minute walk from main attractions (very easy tram stop right in front of hotel). Quiet, charming, wifi.... More

The hotel is located not far from the very city center, and that can definitely be a plus if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful area, away from the often noisy and crowded tourist spots. It looks good estethically, clean and tidy due to daily cleansing, it has a tram stop ( 9 and 14) and a night bus... More

Helpful Staff, clean room with clean linens. Size ok for 4 single beds, free wifi, minibar free for drinks. Bathroom small but fine for a 4 days trip, shower very good. Would definitely stay again, good price for family or friends. Nice Rembrandt decor!

We had a really cute and clean room with a comfortable bed. The dining room was old fashioned and formal looking -- lovely in a different way. Everyone we talked to at the desk was very kind and helpful. Even the location was nice -- quiet and residential, but easy to walk or take a tram to the town center.... More

There are a few things that really make or break a hotel, and this hotel delivered on them: - very quiet room - clean - comfortable bed with quality sheets - shower with decent pressure and hot water - excellent wifi signal and speed even though I was two flights up - good location It was slightly out of town... I stayed at the Rembrandt Hotel during a business trip. Locationwise there is nothing to say: perfect location, tram stop is right in front of the hotel (1 min walking). The hotel is very cozy with small, but nice rooms and modern facilities. If you are travelling with a lot of luggage or are not too fit, be aware that... More

Nice, small but comfortable, clean, friendly and accomodating staff, good value for money. Good for budget travel and if you are not looking for something really fancy. Pretty happy with our stay in May 2015.

The hotel was chosen for me by conference organisers because it was close to the venue - Artis in the Plantage. From that point of view the hotel was a great choice. I walked to the hotel from the Central station which took around 30 minutes; the Number 9 tram takes about 15 minutes. My room ('Room with balcony') was... More

The number 9 tram outside the door was definitely a feature for this hotel. We stayed 2 nights after a Rhine River cruise. Maybe we were spoiled from the luxury of the ship but the Rembrandt is rather old and worn. We stayed in room 1 in the basement which was quiet and had access to the backyard patio. It... More

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
