Stayed at the Wiechmann hotel for three nights beginning of May. I had a room on the third floor overlooking the canal. The room was small but comfortable and clean. The hotel team were great especially Natta. The hotel is close to major attractions such as 10 minute walk from Anne Frank House, 5 minute walk from the flower market,... More

The big thing about this hotel is the stairs - if you can get over them (or up/down them) then it's a great hotel. Lovely location and our room was great. We especially liked the furniture and the bed was very comfortable and we both slept very well. Breakfast was fine, usual sort of thing with good coffee and nice... More

This hotel is situated on a crossroads of a bridge crossing a canal, it is in a quiet but accessible location and the hotel is full of interesting artefacts and photos and refreshingly different from hotel chains with real keys instead of swipe cards. The bed was really comfortable, the canal very close with a great view and a hot... More

Hotel is centrally located. The staff was very helpful. The breakfast room has large windows and faces the canal which makes for a great view. They could use a little better breakfast selection, the cheese sat out and was hard around the edges but everything else was ok. The stairs were skinny and a bit steep (there is no elevator)... We stayed here for three nights. The room is somewhat basic but reasonably comfortable. The view of the canal from the breakfast room is simply amazing, a great place to watch the world go by. The quality of the food is very good: hard boiled eggs, various breads, croissants, a few varieties of fruit, yogurts, juices and cereals. The hotel... More

Have just spent 3 nights at this ideally placed hotel and will certainly return to it. The breakfast room overlooks a canal bridge and is a fantastic place to watch Amsterdam life. The room was comfortable and the ensuite bathroom was spacious.

The hotel is ideally situated for exploring the city but in a quieter location away from the hustle and bustle of Dam Square. Breakfast in the dining room overlooking the canal is a wonderful way to start the day. Staff were friendly and helpful. The old dog watched everyone come and go!

Unfortunately this hotel experience was a negative in our travels. The staff were unfriendly, unhelpful and very inconsistant - over 3 nights/2 days we must have seen 5 different people at reception. The room was old and in much need of an upgrade and it was impossible to take a shower as the water temperature went from extreme cold to... More

Stayed here 4.22 - 25 and had a wonderful time. Great location in a quiet neighborhood right along the canals. Wonderful staff who are very helpful and willing to answer any question. Breakfast room is a wonderful location to watch the daily activity of Amsterdam. Would not hesitate to stay there again!!

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
