Staff are friendly, open 24 hours, come and go when you like with 24 hours service desk. Great if you just want a hotel close to the centre and won't spend much time inside other than sleeping. The room was quite small but it was clean and fresh towels were delivered daily. We didn't spend much time in the hotel... More

This is my first 'terrible review'. The reason why will be made clear below, however the word 'rip off' is an understatement. However, I like my reviews to be fair, comprehensive and balanced so I will start with the good points! The hotel is situated in a quiet neighbourhood near to Vondelpark and can be reached via the number 5... More

Front of house staff very friendly and helpful that speak english. We stayed for 3 nights and our room wasnt cleaned or replenished we had to ask for new/clean things. A stone throw away from the hotel is a park where you can relax, play football and smoke (if your into that). Everything you will need and want to do... More

The great location of the Trianon hotel just a few minutes walk from the Rijksmuseum makes up for the size of the rooms. The rooms were clean and the staff very helpful. For a budget price hotel in walking distance to Dam Square i would book this hotel again

After reading reviews my group and I were nervous to stay at the Trianon hotel. However I'm really glad we did: we paid 60 euros for 4 nights (way cheaper than anywhere else we looked) in a family room for 6 people. After expecting the worst, we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. A nice guy at the reception let... More

Rooms and bathrooms look dirty. Beds are not comfortable and the room is too small for so many beds, so it looks crowded. The only positive aspect is location, near the museums area. In general, it's too expensive for such and uncomfortable stay.

Don't stay here. Our group had 3 rooms in total, at different levels. We found bed bugs in each room, and got bitten. The staff did not take this matter seriously. They switched us to another room, but the same day directly put a new group in the old room. The staff was impolite and ignorant regarding this problem.

Pros; price, great location, helpful staff, wifi works, lockers, towels provided, comfy enough. Cons; not too clean, nowhere to put water/phone on top bunk, very few windows so horrible when it's hot, bunk bed ladders are poor, stairs up to room 405 = health hazard, advertised as an 8 bed room but a 9th was put in there so there... This hotel is very basic the towels were rough but clean. The breakfast simple but filling. It was very handy for that part of the city and we were able to easily reach the Rijksmuseum plus the Van Gough museum. The beds were comfortable basic and clean. This is the sort of hotel used by schools on a budget trip.... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
