This hostel is in a great location and isn't bad for what you're paying, especially in an expensive area. However, it's definitely a no-frills kind of place. Very chill atmosphere. The workers are friendly for the most part. They offer free coffee in the morning! But there's no elevator so if you're staying on a top floor, good luck with... More

Great location, fairly cheap, clean. Only gripe is that there was only a single bathroom for about ten people. Staff were pretty efficient, what we saw of them. I would have no qualms about staying here again.

Decent enough hostel- clean bed in a good location but that's about all. Room was very cramped and only one toilet and shower for 18 people wasn't really enough. Considering how expensive it was I would have expected a bit more but the staff were helpful and friendly

The place is in the city centre and located close to the train station, but that is the only positive thing about this place. The management is inattentive and the interiors are not well maintained. They do have two separate buildings for the accommodation, and I did end up at the annex, which has really steep stairs.

This place was awful. Our checkin was an apparent bother to the gentleman on reception. He came off rude and the hostel itself was very rough. Would recommend the Winston hostel over this one for a similar price, we stayed at bobs for one night at the end of our time in Amsterdam.

The worst hostel i've been in Europe. I saw a rat and a lot of spiders in the lockers. The place smells like urine and mold and to improve the staff is so rude. I made a 4 night reservation for 7 friends (€186,00 each), but a half day was enough for us to leave the place. We went to... More

Because I was in Amsterdam, I spent little time in the actual hostel. The hostel is split up. The lobby is on one street, where there are also some dorms, and then additional dorms are one street over. The beds were clean, although they were really squeaky. The dorm I stayed in had a wash closet ( a sink and... More

My dormitory was at the top floor so we had to carry our heavy luggages up the 4 flights of stairs. It was a feat! Somehow i could not receive the wifi in the dormitory so i had to come down one floor to get the wifi by the stairs. It is in another building about 3 minutes walk away.... More

Yes it was totally convenient to the station only a 10 minute walk. Well maybe a little longer but that was only due to our rucksacks. We had to book in, in a different building to the one we stayed in. It was a basement of a building very dark and smokey. We were also charged an additional tourist fee... More

As hostels go it was OK. Good wifi, nice communal area with a few drinks but no kitchen. In a city expensive as Amsterdam it is a bit of a bummer. Luckily I stayed in the main building but it seemed some people were being sent round the corner which I can imagine would be annoying. Enjoyed my stay but... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
