My dormitory was at the top floor so we had to carry our heavy luggages up the 4 flights of stairs. It was a feat! Somehow i could not receive the wifi in the dormitory so i had to come down one floor to get the wifi by the stairs. It is in another building about 3 minutes walk away.... More

Yes it was totally convenient to the station only a 10 minute walk. Well maybe a little longer but that was only due to our rucksacks. We had to book in, in a different building to the one we stayed in. It was a basement of a building very dark and smokey. We were also charged an additional tourist fee... More

As hostels go it was OK. Good wifi, nice communal area with a few drinks but no kitchen. In a city expensive as Amsterdam it is a bit of a bummer. Luckily I stayed in the main building but it seemed some people were being sent round the corner which I can imagine would be annoying. Enjoyed my stay but... More

Quite pricey for what it was, however Amsterdam is a very expensice city so it was to be expected. Dorm was clean, being on the top floor was a bit of a pain but we managed alright! Decent location. The room and hostel overall was a bit cramped, the lobby was tiny and the stairs were so narrow but steep.... More

Yes it's conveniently located a road away from Amsterdam Centraal station. However it is a hostel so expectations were never particularly high. When we arrived we were met by a less than aware receptionist in a dark and muggy room below street level. The checking in process took a while longer than expected and we were charged an additional tourists... More

So I see a lot of negative reviews. But this a solid place. Maybe I got lucky on my stay but my buddy and I had an amazing time! Smoking and drinking in the lobby meeting people from all around the world! Very fun environment. This would suit someone who isn't afraid to 'rough it'. Its not really that bad..... More

We staid in a big room with 16 beds. Toilet and showers were in the room and shared among us. The room was clean but there were nothing than beds in there. We need to walk steep stairwais to get into our room - we were in a sort of dependence. Definitely overpriced for the services it offers. They are... More

There were hidden extra charges meaning our room was a lot more expensive than we thought, the staff were rude and didn't help explain why this was. We were told to stay in a building "around the corner" from the main hostel, which was in a scary area with lots of stoned people and prostitutes around. When we got in... More

Stayed here in mid-June with 4 friends. Ordered a private ensuite for 6 and, due to an overbooking issue, was given 2 private rooms (3 person per room) on the top floor of the apartment building (separate from the main headquarter with reception) next to the Doors bar. View from the 'Green' room was fantastic, looking over Amsterdam apartments. Stairs... More

Stayed here for two nights on the top floor (the stairs are a little steep so not for the faint hearted!) Rooms were basic but clean and being on the top floor there was no noise so had a great nights sleep. Location is ideal - you could easily walk down to the red light district or across to the... Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
