Found this hotel through trivago. None of the hotels are cheap in Amsterdam so I went for the one which was well located, good reviews and relatively cheaply priced. I was very pleased with my choice. Although the room was tiny (I had a single room), it was very well done out, clean and made the perfect base for my... More

After an extremely stressful journey (delays and missing baggage!), stepping into the warm, inviting confines of this little hotel was fantastic. The staff were extremely helpful throughout, providing us with a cool drink when we got there thanks to the girl on reception and sorting out our luggage problems when it eventually arrived. Indeed, the staff were a real high... More

Stayed at the Clemens recently for five nights. We requested to be at the front of the hotel and the staff obliged and we were given room 203. After the initial shock of 'the stairs', which everyone references, and the amount of physical space in the room, we were pleasantly surprised with the hotel as the days went by. Just... More

Clemens hotel, such a great find in this great city. All the reviews about the stairs are true! However, to experience first hand is another thing. The staff was very helpful in taking up my luggage. We booked a triple room and found the room to be very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We had a garden view. Even with... More

Having got over the initial shock of the very steep stairs, the hotel is brilliant. The staff and the cats are welcoming and very friendly. From the very pretty balcony there is a stunning view of the royal palace and the westerkerk (tower) - recommend going to top with the excellent Adrian, our guide. Breakfast was very good with plenty... More

The rooms are so cute, and really clean. Delicious breakfast. The stairs are a bit steep and narrow, but the staff is always willing to help andake sure you have everything you need to feel comfortable! I had a great time at the hotel and Amsterdan is just gorgeous!!!

The Clemens Hotel is central to many things in Amsterdam. You can get to/from the following places on foot (or bike) quite easily - train station, restaurants, Red Light district, 9 Streets, Anne Frank House, Museums, pubs. The rooms were small but nicely designed with great showers and bathrooms. Reception was helpful and breakfast was good. For a taste of... More

I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a work trip. I had a single room on 2nd floor. Was a compact room but very clean and had lovely clean bathroom with waterfall shower. TV was as big as the wall! Bed really comfy (single) and lovely view out the back. Nice to hear church bells each morning too.... More
