Had a lovely two night stay in December just before Christmas. Historic building, nice breakfast, very clean. Third floor room was spacious with ensuite bathroom. The view from the back of the building was so nice: garden, picture-perfect buildings and you can even see the top of the Rijksmuseum.

I was travelling on my own for a week holiday in Amsterdam and felt completely comfortable staying with Ernst and family in their beautiful old canal house. The hotel is in an excellent location of Amsterdam: within walking distance to museums, tram stops, cafes, many tourist spots yet super quiet with a room facing the courtyard.

We stayed with Ernest and his family for 4 days in Nov 2015.We really enjoyed our stay with them. The hotel has a lovely informal and relaxed atmosphere where nothing is too much trouble and you can chat with the hosts and other guests freely. Loved the breakfasts, great choice of foods. Hotel is central and close to trams and... More

We had a very warm welcome from Ernest when we arrived about 8 PM and felt immediately at home. The hotel is located in the heart of the canal district and just by the tram stop so not far to pull the luggage. The room was clean, comfortable and being in a town house, very quaint. The breakfast was great,... More

To start with we did not feel as if we are checking into a hotel, rather it felt as if old friends where greeting us. The personal touch that was added to our stay was very appreciated. We easily felt at ease with the family; the cheerful "grandma" type old lady (old in years but young at heart) and the... More

Hotel Keizershof provides a perfect home base for a visit to Amsterdam - and in fact it feels like a home, not a generic hotel. The building is nicely located on a quiet canal, within easy walking distance of the museums, the flower market, and central Amsterdam. It's also half a block from two tram lines that go straight to... More

There were 7 of us and we spend 2 nights at the hotel. Mary was so amazing and friendly. Her daughter and son were really great too. The rooms were cozy, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was awesome and Mary makes an amazing omelet. It was like staying with family. The location was just perfect. And what a beautiful city.... More

I have stayed in this lovely small family run hotel twice. Every time I felt like I was staying my grand mother's house. Any traveler who wants to feel real warmth at an old canal house must be here. Not to mention the family like staffs, dutch breakfast with fresh omelette will certainly support the busy day in such a... More

My husband and I stayed 2 nights at the Hotel Keizershof this past June on I believe the top floor overlooking the canal. We loved the view, quiet but close-to-the-action location and clean and well appointed rooms. The downstairs kitchen/dining/living area was especially elegant but comfortable. But we really appreciated the owners! Miss Mary made us wonderfully fluffy omelettes each... More

We stayed here 7 years ago and don't regret repeating the experience. This is a tall, narrow establishment. If you travel with huge suitcases and can't handle narrow, circular stairs, this hotel is not for you. We found it to be a unique experience. Our room, the Rita Hayworth, was a good size and pleasantly decorated. Breakfast is wonderful, with... More
