Since I want to end on a positive note, let me get rid of the pesky items first. All buildings in Amsterdam, we learned, are tall and narrow to avoid taxes. So my guess is that they all have spiral staircases. In this hotel, the guest rooms are situated on the 4th floor - there are 49 steps to get... More

I doubt you will find a more agreeable hotel in Amsterdam. A beautiful historic building facing a canal and more beautiful buildings beyond. Large rooms. Easy walk to all the major galleries and museums, a charming garden with cats and parrots and an extraordinary family serving sumptuous breakfasts and good advice. Perfect.

Wonderful and an enjoyable experience. As soon we walk in, they greeted with a big smile. From there was all good. Location was close to shopping, restaurant, and transportation, but far enough to be quite. But the the best was breakfast. The only draw back with this hotel is the shower, and the stairs. But everything is all goooooood.

Many pluses for this tiny hotel, the location, the staff, the full breakfast, the price, but the stairs, well. Fortunately, when we arrived and tired, someone showed up who carried our two larger suitcases up to the fourth floor, and a very large and fine room, with a very comfortable bed, with Ikea coverings, We planned our exits and returns.... This is an unusual place. You walk up a couple flight of stairs past some law offices and then confront a tall narrow spiral staircase to climb up to the rooms. Persons not in tiptop condition and not carrying light suitcases might select a different place to lodge. The hotel is easy to find on a major canal and near... More

My brother-in-law and I stayed here for two nights in late September. As others have said, Mary, daughter Hanukkah and son Ernest were very welcoming. Breakfast very nice. Location great, as it is a short walk to two major tram lines. BUT, BUT, BUT the rooms are on the third floor, and it is a spiral staircase with 60 steps.... More

60 steps. 60 steps. It takes 60 steps to get to the top of the stairs at Amsterdam's Hotel Keizershof. And you know what? It's worth it. Just half a block from the tram line, the Hotel K was easy to find. We stayed in the Mae West room, surprisingly large and very comfortable, with a nice view of the... More

This hotel is a charming hotel with lots of character! The owners are very welcoming and the breakfast provided was freshly prepared as you arrived to the breakfast room each morning. The hotel is ideally located for exploring the city and we walked to all the main attractions. The hotel is easily accessed from the main train station via the... More

Such a beautiful property and wonderful that it hasn't been modernised. Quaint, charming and steeped in history. The hosts, Mary and her daughter and son were so welcoming and helpful! An excellent nights sleep, followed by a plentiful breakfast. I would definitely stay again. They also kindly posted my camera charger back to England which was hugely appreciated. A great... More

We returned to Amsterdam Keizershof for a second time (5 nights) in 7 years and had another wonderful stay. This is the only place for us because we like to avoid the commercial, institutional hotels. Keizershof is sited on a gorgeous canal, in the ideal location for walking to museums, restaurants and town center. The family members here provide a... More
