this hotel is in a perfect spot, sheltered from the hustle and bustle but convenient for sightseeing, whilst situated in a beautiful area. its worth upgrading to the canal view rooms as you have such wonderful views and can sit and watch the world drift by. the free breakfast was great - toast, museli, friut, cake, cheese and ham, with... Stayed at the Max Brown between 12th & 14th July, first visit to this hotel. We stayed in room 403 located on the 1st floor in the building next to the main hotel itself, well appointed room albeit 'snug', comfy clean bed, TV and en suite. The hotels location is absolutely perfect for travellers looking for a central locale, near... More

What a great hotel. We really enjoyed our stay.Beds so clean and comfy a home from home.Staff so helpful. Will go again. The hotel has steep stairs to rooms but that's the norm for hotels in amsterdam so we were well aware of that. We loved our time there. Would definitely recommend Max Brown Hotel. If the stairs are not a problem... More

The hotel location is handy to the damrak, anne frank huis, jordaan and other main attractions. When we got there the hotel name changed to Max brown and we were not sure if that was the right one, but to our relief they just changed its name. The hotel feels young, modern, yet bonafide. We stayed there for 4 days... More

We spent 4 weekday nights there. The hotel is conveniently situated for exploring the city and staff couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. We witnessed them coping so well with a couple of guests who weren't happy. Our superior grade room was small but with a very comfortable bed, good clean facilities and everything we needed. This made up for... More

I usually carefully consider actually putting a bad review as I realise how much influence it can have on people, however this time I feel passionate about letting everyone know of my poor experience. It was a gift for my boyfriends birthday and I was really embarrassed by everything. Upon arrival I was very excited as the location is perfect,... More

First time stayer at this hotel but I'm glad we found it. I thought the rooms are fantastic, staff were great and the area lovely. The whole group loved staying here and it's the only place I'll be staying during future visits to this excellent city.

We had a good stay at this hotel for three nights as a family of four. We had a double room and our teenage children had a twin room directly above ours. Both rooms had lovely views overlooking the canal, were bright and airy with comfortable beds. One thing - our room was much smaller than our children's and we... More

we had a room overlooking the canal; clean and very comfortable. Hotel is conveniently located for getting around Amsterdam; close to train and tram. Nice breakfast; excellent coffee. Staff were helpful; they helped us locate our cruise ship at Coenhaven and wrote the directions out for us and arranged for a taxi that got us there without trouble. Loved the... More

Amsterdam is known for it's thin, steep stairways, and the Max Brown Hotel has it's share of those. And we were on the top floor! Still, we loved the location most of all. But the room was also sunny, quaint and very clean. Staff are helpful, but extremely laid back compared to your average hotel chain front counter. It's much... More
