Max Brown Hotel is situated in 400 year old canal house. Requested air conditioned room and as none available at all was booked into 106 with balcony and access to fresh air. Room was comfortable however via two sets of ridiculously steep stairs. No problem really as requested help and guys carried our cases up and down! Had our hands... More

The hotel is cosy and it is near one of the most famous canals in Amsterdam in a quiet place and in a walking distance from central station and everywhere. The area is very quiet although very central We stayed in the loft. The room (nº 401) as a canal view and a has it own door right to the... More

There are some great things about this hotel, and there are some very negative things about the hotel and especially the room that we got. Positive: * Good staff. Always smiling :-) * Cool design and interior. A kind of different style in this hotel. I liked it. * Good location. Not very far from the centralstation in a quiet... More

Stayed here recently and thought it a great wee hotel. In a super location at the city centre end of the Herengracht. The staff are brilliant and so helpful. Rooms are compact but nicely decorated but be warned, some very steep narrow stairs. Choice at breakfast limited but perfectly adequate and fresh. Will go back again

Lovely little hotel on the canals in central Amsterdam. Quirky rooms are a bit small but fine for a weekend. Very friendly staff and plenty of spare umbrellas for those occasional downpours. Always plenty going on and a great city to visit. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We book this hotel for romantic trip to Amsterdam during our 10 anniversary of wedding. Hotel is very narrow like any other building in the centre of Amsterdam. When we find them we wasn't sure if this is hotel or cafe. Finally we found that reception is also cafe bar witch looks really nice. We received standard room which was... More

Dear Czarek C, On behalf of the whole Max Brown crew we like to thank you for taking the time to write such an honest and positive review! Indeed our rooms are small like all the rooms down the historical canal buildings, though you might stay in our superior room or our canal views rooms next time. They are more... More

We came to Amsterdam for a long weekend and were extremely impressed by the Max Brown Hotel. It's location is fantastic. Just a five minute walk from Amsterdam Centraal station meant that it was very easy to get to from the airport with all our luggage. It's also a great location for exploring the city and it has lots of... More

Great location close walking distance to many attractions. Fabulous trendy hotel, our bedroom and shower room was small but we had a great canal view, that truly compensated .You need to be fit to climb the stairs to your room. Lovely staff.Breakfast was a little disappointing, that aside we loved the Hotel.

Our room was at the back of a cafe which opened onto people drinking coffee. No windows to open as the other entrance was a large window/door which looked onto a back street and people could just look into your room. No WIFI in room only in main cafe. Staff were lovely, probably one of nicest I have met :).... More

This is a great little hotel in the perfect location right on the Herengracht Canal. The decor is amazing, with books lining the walls and ceilings of copper. The rooms aren't akin to your typical corporate business housing. The area is wonderful and riddled with wonderful cafe's and eateries of all sorts. They offer an amazing breakfast in the lobby,...
