For our honeymoon, we were lucky enough to get one of the coolest rooms at this hotel, which was essentially in the attic of a canal house. This hotel is ideally located near the train station but in a beautiful street in the Jordaan neighborhood. The amenities are more than you would expect at this price point - free internet, wi-fi throughout the hotel, friendly service, and clean and comfortable rooms with great showers! We will definitely stay here again the next time we come to Amsterdam. more

This hotel is in a great location right by the canal and although describes itself as basic provides all that is needed for a comfortable base whilst staying in Amsterdam. My friend and I stayed here for 10 days in June. Recommended by a colleague of mine who stayed there with her family. Truly enjoyed our stay, we had the large modern room, which was very clean and spacious. Like the name of the hotel, it is chic and basic. I stayed in a medium "basic" room, but it was anything but. The room was a nice size considering it was in Europe. I had a full bathtub, sink, desk, nice bed and AWESOME canal view (see photos).
