I can't believe the price they charge for this dump! It's ridiculous! Stayed only one night but that was too long. Don't know how they stay listed on Trip Advisor. Found the place dark, dingy and in terrible condition. The garbage bin in the bathroom hadn't even been emptied. The only good thing I have to say about the room... More

Lost 200€ from my suitcase and came back to the room to discover my bag was placed in the wrong way from where I have left it. The person that took my money couldn't have been an outsider, since the thief didn't take the whole batch. The thief was smart to reduce the after effects of police reports etc.. It... More

We booked this hotel for a reasonable price quite last minute for a summer weekend in Amsterdam. We were really happy with the location, a few minutes from the Vondelpark and not far at all from Leidseplein and the lively areas around there. The Jordaan, our favourite and very pretty area, was not far away either and by bike it... More

This is a small hotell with simple but clean rooms. Some with shower and toilet. If you're on a budget and still want to live close to Leidseplein and Vondelpark. Quiet part less than 5 minutes to buses and trams. A good breakfast is served after 8 so if you have an early meeting - they will try to open... More

We spent two nights here in October. The location was perfect for us. It was near the museums, leidseplein, and any other sights we wanted to see. We took a tram to and from the train station, but walked the rest of the city and liked being able to return to the room before dinner. The room was large and... More

After navigating the infamous twisting narrow stairs up to our room we found our room to be wonderful from the view to having our own bathroom. The only thing that keeps me from rating the room at 5 stars was the fact the bed had a seriously hard, wood divider running the length of it resulting in us sharing a... More

We booked this hotel via the Amsterdam Tourist Information bureau after arriving in Amsterdam a day earlier than originally planned and without a hotel reservation. The room price and quality were comparable to the hotel we had booked in Paris although we found out at the hotel they had no lift and the stairs in Amsterdam are notoriously steep, narrow,... More

We stayed at the Parkzicht for the weekend and found that it suited our needs in terms of location. Our room (room 5) was at the back of he building and was ample enough in size although it did appear to lean perhaps a bit much towards faded elegance. It's just as well that our room was above the reception/breakfast... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
