I would highly recommend Prisenhof to anyone visiting Amsterdam. You get so much more than what you pay for. And the neighborhood is truly charming. It is nice to stay out on the canal belt as opposed to right at the heart of the city. Rooms are clean, beds are comfy, gorgeous views of the canal, and plenty of breakfast.... more

We stayed at Room 9 at Top floor. Nice view, private bathroom, comfortable bed. Tasty breakfast, friendly and helpful staffs. The traditional winch is so fun ! But remember to ask them if you want to use the winch to load your luggage. more

The place is very approachable by tram (No-4) right at the doorstep. It's a typical amsterdam house with friendly hosts. Very neat and clean, away from any noise. Very good and sumptious breakfast with exvellent canal view. A whole lot of informative books too are available for everyone. There's paid internet facility also. Throughly enjoyed our stay here! more

Clean, quiet, tiny hotel away from the downtown crowds. Rooms are small; hearty breakfast included. Staff is friendly and helpful. Many, many, many ethnic restaurants are closeby. Located very near (about 50 feet) from a tram stop. I would stay there again! For a one-star hotel, this far exceeded my expectations. Only drawback--you must climb stairs to reach the front... more

We stayed here for our first trip to the city. Location is great on the canal ring, well removed from the neon tacky Centruum area of the red light district. Surrounded by great bars & restaurants and smart shops too. The room (Room 2) was spotlessly clean, especially the bathroom. As a base for a weekend's sight seeing it was... more

Geeta & Al, Green Bay WI, USA We had a wonderful 3 night stay at the Prinsenhof in room 1. We had researched their website and TripAdvisor so were well aware of the steep stairs and what to expect. It sounds like we got the largest room, and were luckily on the first floor. You must carry your bags up... more

We were greeted by the staff flicking the door open via a piece of rope from the second floor and barking down at us. It became apparent why when we started scaling the stairs. It seems the climb is even too aggressive for the staff to be bothered making. They should try doing it with a suitcase! We were on... more

We had the good fortune to stay at Seven Bridges in 2001 before that well-deserved location really took off, The Prinsenhof doesn't pretend to deliver on the equisitely furnished rooms that have made 7 Bridges famous, but it is equal in location and canal views. It also is several dozen euros cheaper per night. I'd stay at Prinsenhof again for... more

I stayed here for a couple of nights with a friend. The location is good, in a quiet area overlooking Prinsengracht canal. I did not use any public transport during my stay because everything is within walking distance. But there is a tram stop 25 metres from the quest house. The room was basic, but that is what I expected.... more
