When I have booked here the web site hasn't been very clear about the payment. 7£ of difference between internet price and Hotel price! A part this, the staff is kind, room and cleanliness in the average.

Compared to other hostels in Amsterdam, this place was very reasonable. Yes it is quite far out, however if you rent bikes from there it isn't that bad. Renting the bikes was one of the best bits of out trip! Breakfast was fine, the location is very hard to find, its of a side road so we did get lost.... More

I went to Amsterdam to attend ADE and I wasn't prepared to spend a lot on accomodation. This hotel in De Pijp suited me quite well. The rooms are quite basic, the beds might not be the most comfy and many rooms have shared bathroom and toilet. The room I stayed at was on first floor (which means less steep... More

Staying at the Bicycle hotel was pleasant, had a lovely comfortable bed, friendly staff and I would stay here again, 20 min walking distance to the centre, I have 10 characters more to write. enjoy Amsterdam

When we arrived at this hostel...I mean hotel... we were greeted by a really lovely gentleman who was helpful and made us feel very welcome. The website said we could check in at 2 but we were actually told we could only check in from 4 which although inconvenient wasn't a disaster as the area surrounding the hotel is actually... More

A step above a hostel. Clean, cheap and located wihin a fifteen minute walk from the centre. Staff very helpful. parking a pain though. narrow spiral staircases. Tricky with big luggage. Parking a little expensive, but the hotel can save you a couple of Euro in their lot.

Highlights: location, convenient to trams, quiet at night. Can't say I found the staff friendly; rather, they seemed to tolerate us. Also, didn't think breakfast was a highlight; it was sufficient but nothing to rave about. WiFi was spotty which considering the importance for a traveler planning their activities was a disappointment. All in all.....meh.

We booked a double room expecting a very small Bible based on past reviews. The room we received (referred to as an "apartment") is a lovely spacious, neat and clean. It has it's own very large shower and toilet with a large bedroom and self catering kitchenette including fridge, microwave and kettle with cutlery. For the average middle income traveller... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
