For me, the visit to amsterdam was all about Van Gogh and this place was perfect for that. The museum block was down the road which also had Rijk and Staedlijk . To add to that, the towncentre is a short tram ride away and we preferred to walk. The hotel is just perfect with a very friendly staff, super... More

I stayed here recently when the Apple Inn ( up the road) had overbooked. Despite being "dropped" upon them at a busy time I was made to feel really welcome and the (studio) room was great. A lovely small hotel and I will stay here again I'm in Amsterdam

Excellent hotel. Great location in quiet neighbourhood just outside of the city centre and right next to the wonderful Vondelpark. Tram 2 takes you straight from the railway station to the hotel. Great design interior. Lobby / reception area feels like your living room. Friendly and helpful staff. Book your breakfast in advance (cheaper). Excellent breakfast with wide variety of... More

perfect location, tram very close by. quiet and near Vondelpark. I had a room with a balcony and it was great. The staff was helpful and nice. There are no elevator but i was on the first floor (pay attention to that detail). Also, there is no a/c (however, there was a fan)

Walking distance to museums, the park, the tram was only a few steps away outside. We had a large terrace overlooking the garden below. The staff was very helpful. Ask for a pink magnolia for your welcome drink!

I was here in Dec 2013 when it was the Hotel Zandberg. This time I was with 2 friends and we had 3 single rooms 14.15.16. Arrived at Schipol and got the No 197 bus to the Rijksmuseum stop. 5 Euros (24hr and 48hr passes NOT valid, chipcards are valid) Look for a van by the bus stop as it... More

Hi Robert, it was great having you and your friends back. Let's see if we can surprise you a third time by finding you more nice restaurants. I recommend however you keep De Gruter as your Home Bar (never change a winning team). More

We stayed here for a 2 night break and it was perfect for our needs. Our room was spotlessly clean, bright and welcoming. The hotel is about 30 minutes walk from Dam Square and 15 mins from the Rijksmuseum and in a quiet neighbourhood. All the staff were friendly and welcoming and gave us all the information we needed. This is a small hotel in a rather quiet area. Staff is excellent, very helpfull and friendly. Close to the Vondelpark. About 10 minutes walking to the Rijksmuseum or the van Gogh Museum. About 15 minutes walking to the Leidseplein. Or you can take the electric tram.

Great to see that you tried the tram. Tram #2 has been voted in the top 10 of best tram-rides world wide. Obviously we could not beat San Francisco (Amsterdam has no hills), but still, tram 2 stops in front of the hotel and guarantees a wonderful experience seeing the best from our city. More
