Great hotel, great staff, great location! The staff were all so friendly and helpful from carrying my luggage up to my room to giving me suggestions and directions to places of interest. I would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at The Neighbour's Magnolia for three nights and enjoyed our stay very much. Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. We were in room 3 in the basement which suffers from a little tram noise, but it didn't bother us.The hotel is located on the route of the Number 2 tram for easy access to... More

The welcome we received on arrival was warm and friendly and set the tone for our stay. Our room was on the top floor and was clean and well designed. We loved the quirky touches and had everything we needed. We would have liked coffee/tea making facilities in the room, however this was available in the lounge, as part of... More

This hotel is lovely, the reception/lounge area is very homely and relaxed and it's very easy to sit there and talk to the staff and other guests. Its a highly relaxed informal atmosphere and adds real charm to this hotel. We had a mix of single and double rooms. The singles are small with a shower/wet-room which is quite small.... More

Stayed in the neighbours magnolia for 2 nights (sat-mon) and had a wonderful stay. The rooms were clean and a perfect size for what we needed. The staff are a credit to the hotel helping us with everything we needed without any hassle. The hotel is decorated in a modern but homely style with the reception and dining room in... More

Small, boutique hotel in an upscale residential neighborhood next to Vondel Park and two blocks from the museum quarter. Eclectic motif in the reception with various comfortable seating, with staff that is extremely friendly, accommodating and perfect English. No overnight staff but didn't matter to me. My single room on the street-side was small but everything was new and modern,... More

This was the perfect base for our week in Amsterdam - close to the biggest museums and the park, and a 20 minute walk from the centre. We received a very friendly, multilingual welcome - particular thanks to Gilberto for his help and advice - and our teenage children loved the relaxed atmosphere (and wifi). The abundant breakfast set us... More

From the moment we entered the warm welcoming lobby we felt we could relax. We weren't disappointed. Our room was excellent, breakfast had good variety, ambience was A1 but the staff surpassed even these top gradings. They went over and beyond in trying to help us sort out our on going plans. Thank you. We will be back. Oh yes the hotel... More

Had a bit of a EuroTrip this year - drove across from the UK via the channel tunnel through Belgium, Netherlands, Germany then Poland and back. Main requirement was a dog friendly hotel and this certainly fits the bill - they talk about their own dog - Bleecker - on the web site and make it clear your dog is... More

Hoteldog Bleecker says thank you for the nice review and he hopes to meet your German Shepard next time you stay with us. He agrees that Amsterdam in general is very dog friendly and he also loves walking in the Vondelpark, especially during BBQ and picknick season... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
