I stayed in a double room (328). The room was clean, had everything I needed, bathroom had a lovely shower...., only complaint would be the room was a bit hot, but open the windows, and it's fine within 5 mins. The bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast was lovely. Great selection, something for everyone. The hotel itself, is clean,... More

Room was clean, first room assigned was unmade and uncleaned and we were given a larger (but nosier) room so we could rest. Hotel breakfast hot and plentiful..coffee and orange juice were especially good. Desk staff friendly and concerns were corrected quickly. Location great for the tram, walking, restaurants. Ask for directions to the large grocery store if you want... More

Been there twice. Rooms are small with no view or air. But location is great, price correct, and the lobby is nice. Brakfast - uhm..it's ok to eat something in the morning ;) Staff is cool and everything goes smothly.

You could not be more central if you tried. I agree with previous reviews regarding air conditioning but that aside I found the rooms to be ok, toilet we had was a wet room style with shower which was ok. Having a free safe and fridge in the room was a bonus as was the included breakfast. We went really... More

I reviewed this hotel on Trip Advisor and got diverted to bookings.com who quoted me £501 for a two night stay in a suite for two adults and two children at the end of August. I emailed the hotel direct to get a comparison quote and to find out how much their parking fees were. They quoted me 800 Euros... More

Just stayed here for 2 nights as Family birthday outing. The hotel is situated just off Dam Square so provides an excellent central base for visiting Amsterdam. We arrived earlier than normal 2pm check in time and were worried we would not get into rooms early. However our worries were unfounded, as we were greeted wonderfully by one of the... More

We stayed here for a short break for a family birthday. This hotel isn't a chain hotel and is a little different with a great location next to dam square and walkable from central station. The hotel decor is a little tired in places but saying that the hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. They recommended places for us... More

i stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, i arrived very late on the 1st day, the room they gave me on the 4th floor was good, after preparing for sleep i started hearing a strange sound that gets stronger for 2 min and then stops, it keeps working every 10 for 5 min, i went to the reception they... Located in Dam Square so everything is within walking distance. The staff were extremely friendly and nothing was a problem. Our flight arrived early and as our room was ready that let us into our room at 9.30am. Breakfast was great and included in the room rate.

Stayed at Rho hotel last weekend. We were a group of three travellers all sleeping in single rooms. The single rooms had single beds and were really tiny, during the day they were hot but cooled down at night. The reception staff were pleasant and helpful, I was very wary based on previous reviews, but they were fine. All rooms... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
