RHO hotel is a good value hotel in the middle of DAM Square in Amsterdam. Location is perfect for walking around and visit all touristic places. Breakfast is awesome (included) and the WIFI is ok (not great). Rooms are nice and very clean, but be aware that there's no AC on the rooms and in the summer it can get... More

Everything very good. Great location, Minute walk to cafes, pubs shops etc. Spacious nicely decorated room, 2 large windows thus lots of light.2 comfortable tub chairs with nice table.. Spotlessly clean and kept clean with fresh towels every day. Comfy beds. Very quiet. WiFi fast and consistent. All staff very helpful, cheerful, nothing seemed too much for them. Huge foyer... More

Location, Location, Location... the hotel is located in the Dam square. Beside of this - the rooms are very simple with no minimal design whats so ever. the stuff is very nice and the breakfast is a minimal standard European breakfast.

Pros- Very very kind staff! Great location! on Dam square, close to everything, 15 minutes walking from the central station, big, clean, quiet and lighted room. Cons- The breakfest was the same everyday, not so diverse.

The reason why my total point is 4 rather than than 3 is reasonable price policy of the hotel than the other dutch hotels. But, in fact I was planning 3 points for the hotel. Location is definitely the best location for amsterdam and at very center of dam square also, breakfast and reasonable price policy of the hotel are the... More

We spent 2 nights at this hotel. We found it to be comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. The hotel is centrally located and we were able to walk everywhere. The breakfast choices were excellent. Hotel is expensive, but in line with others in same location. Would recommend d this hotel

First of all let me start by saying that this is the only 'negative' review I have ever left on Tripadviser so I am not a serial complainer. We booked 2 rooms for just one night. The first was a basic twin room on the first floor. The window overlooked a courtyard. No real issues with that as we didn't... More

This hotel has a fab location - it is very near the centre and within walking distance to everywhere you want to be and see. The breakfast was also quite satisfying with a nice mix of hot and cold options. The comfort of the rooms left a lot to be desired, the beds were very, very soft and the rooms... More

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
