I stayed three nights at OWL, very receptive and attentive staff . Quiet place but very close to the Leidseplein. The Hotel has an elevator, the room I stayed in was small but very clean, with bath, with fan (which I loved, after passing heat in Cologne). Very good breakfast! Wifi worked very well. I loved, recommend! PS . Kitchen... More

The Owl is a small hotel located right next to Leidensplein. It is well situated. You can walk to the museaums, the casino, the vondel park, the flower garden, etc. They are a whole bunch of restaurants and bars at walking distance. The rooms are not big, but most of the hotels in amsterdam have small rooms. The breakfast if... More

We stayed in this hotel recently for a 2 night weekend break. It is clean and welcoming. Rooms are adequate for a short break with ensuite and TV but no drink making facilities. Breakfast is continental style and worth the 9 euros 50 per person to get your day started. There is a lift in the hotel and the stairs... More

We stayed week beg 24th August in a family room, 2 adults plus children aged 14 & 17. The hotel and our room were very clean. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept well. The children had the bunk beds and they were proper single bed size, so ideal for them. There was plenty of breakfast and the... More

Perfectly adequate double room, good shower, TV and free wifi, lift and nice breakfast. Nice garden seats and small bar. Half way between museums and Leidesplein bars and restaurants, less than 10 mins walk each way. Help yourself coffee machine available all day. Only complaint bed and pillows a bit soft.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Owl. Pete and the staff are all charming, helpful, welcoming and do all they can to make you feel at home. The rooms we chose were small but fine, they have all you need and are spick and span, there is a pretty courtyard garden and comfortable lounge. Best of all is... More

We stayed - unfortunately just for one night - in the Owl Hotel and were very pleased by its service. Small, but clean hotel room with everything you need - wifi gratis - and also the breakfast offered all you might want. The central position allows you to just walk down to the centre - just a couple of metres... More

I definably advise this hotel taking into consideration quality/price. Great location; close to the museums area and next to Vondelpark; public transports available (5 minutes from bus 197 connecting to the airport), quite neighborhood and very pleasant. Restaurants, coffee-shops, canal cruises, shopping area, everything of a walking distance. The staff was always available, very helpful and friendly, gave me good... More

It wasn't our first choice but we couldn't have done better. Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh and Stedelijk, even Concertgebouw are just a few minutes walk away. As are two very good restaurants - The Seafood Bar and Blue Pepper (top quality Indonesian cuisine). The hotel is on a quiet street with Vondel Park at the end of it. Liedseplein with its... More

I went to Amsterdam for Innovation, as I was out all night I did not stay at the hotel for very long at all even though I booked a room for three nights. The hotel was nice and simple which was exactly what I had expected for the low price. When I went to leave I was close to missing... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
