we had a twin room number 31. the room was small but served its purpose the light switch did not work as you walked into the room which meant you had to go to the far side of the room to switch on the bedside lights. the room was quite warm at night but the window could be opened. and... More

A lovely hotel with a great location. Clean, warm and comfortable. Reception staff were friendly and helpful in fact all staff we encountered were pleasant. It was quiet so we had restful sleep. There were quite a few ladybirds in the room which was a bit strange but that didn't 'bug' us too much 😂

Me and my boyfriend stayed here last week for 3 nights. We enjoyed it. Although a little old fashioned the location made up for it! We walked to nearly all the main sights and there's a nice selection of restaurants nearby. The staff at the hotel were nothing but helpful from the moment we got there... we forgot our travel... Very clean hotel, friendly staff. Only downsides are lack of tea and coffee facilities and very scary stairs. Also the hotel seems better suited towards quiet guests and a little bit on the pricey side. Other than that it was very comfortable, the breakfast was decent.

I spent four nights at the Owl Hotel. Located in a quiet neighborhood two blocks behind the Marriot. Centrally located within walking distance to the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gough museum and the Royal Concertgebouw. Very friendly engaging staff, pleasant surroundings, ok contenental breakfast, and a spiral staircase no one on the planet can build anymore. Cool elevator too. Comfortable room... More

The Owl Hotel's rates were unbelievable for such a brilliant, central location, and I really didn't expect much... I was pleasantly surprised! I booked a single room but it was relatively spacious (especially compared to similar London accommodation!) and really well-maintained. I don't usually bother with breakfast, but I had breakfast twice and it was really good too - simple... More

We stayed at the Owl Hotel for four nights. Theres really not much to talk about when it comes to the rooms. They are simple, but provide what you need. A bed, a shower, and some heating. But when it comes to location, thats where Owl Hotel really shines. Its only a about a 3 minute walk from the popular... More

The Good - Location is good. Close to museums and Vondel Park. Ten minute walk to Leidseplein for Tram stop. Quiet hotel and room overlooking a nice garden area with views to the Vondel Park. Refurbished bathroom was very nice. The Bad - A bit dated. Some light switches and power sockets in the room didn't work. What's the point... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
