Excellent staff. Room was very comfortable and adequate. Comfortable furniture and small kitchen made for great visit. Location within walking distance of everything, restaurants, market, museums. Charming.

We have been staying here for many years and have reviewed it previously. We stayed here in January for another three days and I can still attest to how wonderful it still is. Again, I would emphasize that it is not for everyone. If renting a room in an Amsterdam canal house appeals to you then you may wish to... More

We have stayed at the Seven Bridges Hotel twice now. It is a small, boutique hotel with beautifully furnished rooms. The rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. Some rooms have magnificent views overlooking the canal. The location from which to see Amsterdam's sites is perfect - walking distance to many or tram line just a couple of minutes walk... More

We stayed 3 enjoyable nights in a canal facing room. The location is perfect for walking to most places of interest and is very near to a wide range of restaurants. The hosts were very helpful and we enjoyed the luxury of having breakfast in our room on the last morning. The continental style breakfast was generous and was the... More

Overlooking the canal and one of the seven bridges, our first floor room was delightful, clean, light-filled during the day and very quiet at night. This was our 4th trip to Amsterdam, and we have never enjoyed a location as much as this one, the hotel is perfect for exploring the city and its highlights. The hosts were very responsive,... More

Whatever season it is when we visit Amsterdam, my wife and I make Hotel Seven Bridges our home. The location just can't be better; I mean the fact that you can actually view seven different bridges from this site makes it feel almost like you are living in a Dutch fairy tale. It is so conveniently situated in the heart... More

Charming rooms, best location, we spent a dreamy week at this wonderful 17th century Dutch hotel. Beautiful old neighborhood charm. Wonderful rooms with canal views, wonderful breakfast served on fine china. Close to everyting! Hosts Pierre and Gunter made sure we knew where everything we wanted to see and do was. This was the best place we ever stayed at... More

We LOVED this hotel! It is so fun to stay in a historic canal house - and this one is quiet, clean, and extremely well-kept. You get an interesting and beautiful place to stay, without any of the funky weird stuff you can get in "historic" hotels. We had Room 4 - looking out onto the garden, so we woke... More

4.5 / 5. Hotel of 10 rooms in 1700s building. Great history and old style room. Room 9 on top really unique.  Clean and plenty of room in room and bathroom for a reasonable price.  No elevator- 45 stairs to top.  Would give 5 stars because  no option of WiFi.  Location on canal close to plenty of bars / resturants. ... My partner and i stayed at the seven bridges hotel for 3 nights end of september. It is conveniently located for nearly everything to be within walking distance. The owners were very nice and helpful, and the rooms were very nice too. We had room 7 overlooking the canal which was beautiful and not too noisy at all, although we... More

Staying in Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)

Neighborhood Profile
Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.
