This is a fairly standard hostel experience, you get huge rooms sharing many beds, large communal bathrooms and a large breakfast room. Some goods things to comment upon would be the good security - Lockers at reception and just outside the rooms as well as card entry to halls and rooms. Also, you can eat as much as you want... What was good: the price and location What was bad: The place smelled, there were no lights in the bathroom, the bathroom smelled and looked HORRIBLE. The bedroom was crowded. Basically, we kept our time in the place to a minimum. If you need a cheap place to sleep, this place is OK, but I wouldn't spend more time than... More

Stayed here with a friend in August of 2004 for 3 nights. We contacted the property directly to book. Even though we booked almost 2 months in advance, the entire hostel was almost booked solid. We ended up having to stay in a massive all-girls dorm. It was noisey and girls kept coming in at all hours of the night,... More

We booked a dorm of 8 beds and we finally slept in a dorm with 20 beds!!! You better be drunk if you want to sleep because each time that somebody comes back to the room, it is very noisy...and yes I confirm the bed bugs!!!!!!!!!!!! we were 8 and 2 of my friends got bugs problems!! Furniture is old... More

This was the quintessential hostel, in my mind. The rooms were big and full of beds (there must have been 20+), the bathrooms were just as big, and everything was as impersonal and Spartan as it gets. Not that I'm complaining ... the location was really great and safe, the facade was beautiful, the experience overall ok. That's just it... More

This was my first time staying in a hostel, and except for the girl who kept me up all night with her cough, it was great. The hostel staff wasn't overly friendly, but they were nice. The rooms were clean and so were the beds. The lockers were pretty big and they provide you with a lock. The bathroom area... More

I've stayed here many times over the last few years. Stadsdoelen is, in my expericence, clean, safe and in a great central location that quiet enough to get some sleep. It's not a party hostel, but there's no curfew and there is a cheap bar in the building - between 11pm and 7am you are expected to be respectful towards... More

This hostel was terrible!!! Not only was there hair in our "clean" sheets which we put on the beds ourselves, but I noticed red hives & bumps all over my body after sleeping there, which I soon found out were bed bug bites. It was a disaster when I got home, we had to fumagate our flat, and clean every... More

We stayed in an 8-people room (we were 7) so we had a "visitor" every two days, that was nice because we met interesting people. What we didn´t like was that they told us that they had gest kitchen and it wasn´t. We were going to stay there for 8 nights, so it was important for us to have a... More
