There was 15 of us from our halls from uni who went to amsterdam for Halloween. It was really cheap for the hostel so I expected a really bad dirty hostel but it actually wasnt really that bad. There was a bar which was quite cheap, the breakfast was nice and the dinner was really cheap with loads to choose... More

This hostel was the worst I've ever seen! 4 of us booked a 6 bed room. When we arrived, two guys staying in our room informed us that they had found bed bugs in their beds and were covered in bites. They checked out the next morning. They had obviously complained to the staff because their beds were stripped and... More

After reading some reviews, I was expecting the worst but this place is OK. Couldn’t book anywhere else, so had to go here. Location is OK, as with most places, walking distance to the sights. You get what you pay for, and this place is very basic, but clean, water pressure is OK and noise is fine. Queues for check... More

No other word to describe this place but the worst place I have ever stayed in nearly 20 years of travelling. Unclean, unkept, windows only open a small distance if it was in the uk it would have been closed down years ago. The rooms are small with 6 bunks and no ladders to get into the top bunk you... This hostel is really super located. Right at the Leidseplein and you can walk to every place you want to pretty quick. the people at the reception were ok. can't think of anything negative but also we did not talk a lot to them. A lot of young people are staying there. what you need to know therefore is, that... More

After seeing the reviews I was nervous but the hostel does exactly what it says on the tin. Clean rooms - and pretty well sized - and OK breakfast. What stands out is the location. About a 5 minute walk to anywhere you want to go. You get what you pay for, but at the Hans Brinker I thought I... More

Well I went here with my uni back in 2005 and this was an ideal place for backpackers, students or people that want to explore and have a base just to come and go as they please! the beds are bunk beds and have no barrier on them so climbing up on top bunk can be a lil tricky esp... More

I stayed in the Hans Brinker Hotel only a few nights ago for 3 nights. I was on a trip with the Student Union. I had read a few reviews and this made me a little apprehensive about staying here but i'm happy to say they were unfounded. I think its important to mention that if you visit the website... More

Aaah. I thought of something positive. The location is okay. But thats about it. Nothing felt clean. The bathroom smelt like sewerage, the elevators were covered with graffiti and the rooms were dirty and felt like prison cells. I'm not a clean freak by any means, but its the dirtiest place I've ever been. You had to go to reception... More

I stayed here last week. We (New Collage Nottingham) took 147 students to Amsterdam for three days and stayed in this the Hans Brinker Hotel. We all had an absolutely amazing time, if you want somewhere, were you can stay up as late as you want, drink as much as you want and make as much noise and mess as... More
