Very good location. The crowd is mostly young travelers which is fun and nice. The bar is nice for Prices and the drinks with nice prices. Disadvantage: Must check out early at 10am, and if you lose your key or check out too late your will loose you deposit for your key. (EUR5.-- per key) and they may charge an... More

Quite possibly the worst paid accomodation I've ever used. Our eight-person dorm was very-uncomfortable. Firstly there was far too little floorspace for eight: the room very cramped and there was barely enough room to swing a cat. The complete lack of ventilation in the room (the windowonly opened by an inch or two) made it almost unbearably hot and sticky... More

I stayed at the Hans Brinker for two nights while on a Topdeck tour. I have to say that the location was fantastic. It's close to Ledseplein where lots of clubs, shops and restaurants are, and next door to a bike rental shop so you can easily hire a bike and ride around Amsterdam. Breakfast was average but it was... More

I have not rated this hotel as being terrible, even though they pride themselves as the worst hotel in the world. I stayed here during the spring break in my first year of University, and have to say that all-in-all it was not bad. For students, backpackers or just for a traveler on a budget, this hotel is actually perfect.... More

WELL on a good note we didn't catch any bed bugs or diseases while we were there...and happy hour featured 2 heineken for 2 or 3 euro! No ladders to get to top bunks, bathrooms are rather gross and the place is loud and hospital-like. There is an all night club/disco in the basement so dont stay onthe ground floor!!... More

When we got to the Hans Brinker on Friday night we realised I had made the booking for the wrong month (!!) After a moment of panic the very friendly girl at the desk told us she could accommodate us if we switched rooms and we were delighted to do it rather than roaming the streets in search of accommodation.... My partner and I spent 3 nights at the Hans Brinker (Sat-Mon). Over the weekends, it's probably a great place to be if you're under 21, and just need somewhere to store your luggage while you go out drinking. For anyone not taking that approach, I'd recommend spending more and staying somewhere where packs of early 20s people don't yell/scream/run... More

I was very happy with the room we got. It was clean (cleaned every day) and had everything we needed. the beds were cheap but I would rather have cheap clean bedding rather that expensive, old and dirty bedding. all in all a good stay.

If you are reading this you've probably seen the bad reviews and maybe even the youtube videos. Don't be fooled by the scams though as no hotel could be that bad and we had proof of that fact. We travelled in a group of 18 with Cholsey United FC. We had 3 rooms, one with 4 in, one with 8... More
