This is not a quiet, romantic get away kind of hostel. This is the hostel you go to if you want to drink, get high and then head out to the debauched night life Amsterdam has to offer. And thankfully, all three of us were in that frame of mind, and it was perfect. The rooms were clean, toilet facilities... More

I found this hostel to e quite gross. The rooms were really cramped and when it rained water dripped through the roof. The staff were friendly enough but not particularly efficient. One good thing was the breakfast that was included. Oh and there's a smokin room so you don't have to go far to get baked.

a very good hostel for the price! i shared a queen size bed with my best friend (which was a bunk bed) it was reasonably big and comfertable. lockers were provided in the room as long as you had a combination lock. we were placed in a room with many guys but they were all nice and all was good.... I think dooley888's review below sums this place up - it has a pretty big party vibe going on. If you are going to have a problem with a bunch of backpackers pulling bongs in the smoking room (at 8am), probably best to give this place a swerve. If you are on the first floor above the bar, expect noise... More

The rooms were cramped and always looked unkempt, lockers were broken, and the bathrooms were the worst I've ever been too. Imagine the most filthy public bathroom you've ever seen - this one probably beats it. The only good thing about the room was the blanket, good enough to ward off the cold, cold night. The free breakfast was good... More

Spent one night at the Flying Pig Uptown in June, not sure that I would go back. After spending the day traipsing around the Netherlands, climbing to the very top of many steep flights of stairs with my bag was not what I was expecting (although I understand that this is the style of the buildings). Would have been alright... More

This hostel very much reflects Amsterdam. Laid back, smoking rooms, little dark bar etc. Location - Small walk into the town center. Approx 15 mins to red light district. Rooms - Average rooms, not the best beds however the room & bathroom were clean. Service - Nice friendly service. The only issue was we checked in and paid for 3... More

I stayed in this hostel for only one night, but it was a fun night. This is definitely a party hostel. It has it's own bar with happy hour and all kinds of drinks specials plus a smoking room. This hostel is a little out of the way, but next to a tram stop that will take you all around... More

Hello! Lets settle this right here, right now. The negative reviews about the noise and what not are from people who went to Amsterdam to see the sights. This hostel is a party hostel- it is more akin to a rocking college dorm. Don't stay there if you want some quiet respite after a day of walking around Amsterdam seeing... More

This Hostel was awesome! A little off the beaten path, but with a private bar (cheaper than the town bars) and a small breakfast option; it was really great! The bedrooms got a little stuffy if your fellow travelers shut the windows at night, but the ability to lock up belongings while out on the town was great and the... More
