Right next to an open park, the large windows allow for a fresh Amsterdam breeze to circulate the room. No elevators, so 5 minutes of inconvenience carrying bags up the stairs, no problems. Friendly, cool staff. Reasonably priced bar and sections for smoking. Very cool vibe.

We were 3 20-something's staying at this hostel and I would say it was OK. Reception was super nice! The price was a little steep considering we also had to pay for towels and locks. We stayed in an 8 person room and the guests were constantly filtering in and out even though we were only there for 4 days.... More

I have stayed at the flying pig uptown a few years ago and it's a great cheap place to stay and very good location. My only concern on this trip is that me and my friend both came up with bites all over our arms and backs, we assumed this must be mosquito bites however after the second night my... More

Stayed 3 nights in this hostel and really enjoyed it. The bar has a great vibe and it is within walking distance of all the major sights in Amsterdam. Stayed in a private double room and the only problem we had with the hostel was the bed was not big enough for two people. Other than that was perfect for... More

Stayed at this hostel with 3 other girls (age 19) and had a great stay here! It was really easy to find from the train station and was very central! (5 minutes away from bars and the main art galleries, and 15 minutes away from Anne Frank house). Although it was quite expensive, it was worth it as we had... More

We stayed in this hostel in early June for 3 nights. The place was good for a short stay in Amsterdam, however I wouldn't recommend it for a longer trip. The whole hostel was very small, especially the dorm rooms. The only common room was a tiny bar which was always packed full with people. However, it was in a... More

Me and a few friends stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our European trip. The hostel is in a great location right next to Vondelpark and an approx 20 minute walk from the centre from where you can go to red light and museums etc. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, all spoke perfect english (the norm... We stayed three nights in a double room on the 1st floor. Overall, the Flying Pig is a clean, friendly spot which is close to the park, and only a short walk to the nearby restaurants, casino and canals. The bar has cheap beer and a continental breakfast, and features a smoking room for punching those durries or ripping into... More

This hostel was super fun! Everyone there was so outgoing and there was always something to do. The bottom floor never stops smelling like weed but I guess that's what you'd expect from Amsterdam. It was right next to Vondel Park which was fun to ride bikes through. The wifi only was on the bottom floor and the first floor... More
