We arrived for check-in, lady at the front desk wasn't especially friendly. City tax has to be paid in Amsterdam, a small fee. Room was small and unclean. Sheets were old and walls were peeling. Wet room was inconvenient and small also. Room safe could barely fit a passport in it. Location just outside of the centre is good, right... More

I stayed here in July with a few other lads. Great little hotel. No issues what so ever. The staff are welcoming and friendly, especially the Boss who I just wanted to say thank you for everything, (sorry about crashing your car) but you were great. We never got to say goodbye when we left. The hotel is situated next... More

Stopped here for a long weekend (Thu-Mon) during the beginning of August with 2 friends. Greeted with a warm welcome at the desk after arriving early and not only did they offer to look after our bags but then went one better and told us the room was ready for us to check in, after an early morning flight this... My partner took me on holiday to Amsterdam for my 22nd birthday and we stayed at the Atlas Hotel. It was a perfect choice - it has a great location as it is situated in the museum quarter very near to the Vondelpark, the IAmsterdam sign, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh museum, tram stops, bus stops, etc. The price was... We needed a room for a night. Had stayed in amsterdam earlier in the month but outside the main hub. Were flying home the next day so wanted the downtown experience. The location can't be beat. Right by vondelpark and the museum area. Gorgeous homes in the area: a market in the square Saturday morning( too bad it was raining... More

We stayed just one night but it was an awesome experience! It's about 5 minutes from both vondelpark and the museums. There is a tram only one block away that can take you to most locations in Amsterdam. The room was very clean & you could hardly hear any noise. The best part by far was the staff...they were so... I came to Amsterdam for a concert, and stayed two nights at the Atlas hotel. I must say that this was my best hotel experience i've had. I arrived before the appointed check in time, but I had emailed them the day before and asked if i could leave my luggage there if i was early. They responded and said... More

We booked this hotel as a mystery deal and couldn't be happier. Service was lovely, room was clean, albeit on the small side, and the location was fantastic. Probably not the place to stay if you are having a big weekend with the boys, but otherwise, very good.

I am so glad we stayed at the Atlas Hotel. The staff were among the sweetest and most helpful people I've ever met. The hotel itself was beautiful and offered all modern amenities one could desire. Free wifi, comfortable beds, and wonderful bathrooms made this feel just like home. Location of the hotel was perfect, bordered by a beautiful park... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
