Stayed in the hotel for 3 days - it is located right in Dam square and only about a 7-10 min walk from the Central train station. Amsterdam is not a big place and you can pretty much walk to all the places of interest (except may be the museums and the flea market). The hotel gave me my room... More

Thank you very very much for pointing out all our assets. Now we do not need to do that anymore. Please promise me next time you’re staying with us to report any malfunctioning in your room straight away so we can fix it on the spot. Really interesting to read that some reviewers recommend staying in a room at the... More

Pros: location, location, location. Booked two rooms, and for a very reasonable price, one was a corner room overlooking Dam Square. Did I mention location? Also, the Dam Square room was big, with a huge bathroom. Very modern. Very reasonable. Cons: the "other" room, i.e. the one not on Dam Square, was tiny...almost cruise ship tiny. The bathroom was tiny... More

Nice review. Thank you very much. The corner room you were in must have been either a suite or a Swiss Business Advantage Room. I tend to believe that you were lucky to have a free upgrade for one of the rooms. I couldn’t make up from your review that you booked two different room types. In that case: yes,... More

first impressions of the hotel was the great location, could not get more central, right next to dam square! When inside the hotel, its decorated to a high modern standard! The rooms in the hotel are also nice and modern and also very clean! The showers aren't very powerful but they do the job! Theres a mini bar stocked with... More

Thank you very much for the great review! I wish I had written some of the lines myself. Excellent copywriting! ... I need to put something straight though, because you have been wrongly informed about the rooms having been renovated except for those on the second floor. We also have renovated rooms on level 2 and some on other floors... More

My daughter and I stayed three nights at this hotel and would stay again. The hotel staff was helpful, friendly and efficient. The main desk is at the front door and a key is needed for the elevator. An employee seemed to be at the front desk at most times. The hotel felt safe to us. We had a classic... More

Great informative review. Thank you very much. Although most reviewers focus on our location, the safety of our guests is of equal importance and well taken care of. The sliding doors of the main entrance are closed by default after midnight. You can only access the hotel with a valid electronic room key. The front desk is staffed 24/7. All... More

I spent a week end there in october 2011 with my husband and altough the location is perfect and you can do all Amsterdam on foot from there, for what we spent we were a bit disappointed. The rooms have zero charme and are a bit old, the breakfast is very expensive and we had to wait for a while... More

Thanks for the review. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience experienced during your stay. Waiting for check in can be very unpleasant after a long trip. We are working on the last rooms to be renovated. Please be informed that our breakfast, when booked in advance, is nearly half price. Kind regards, Harold J. Stayed five nights here in March. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There were nice welcoming touches in the room such as a personalised note and some fresh fruit. I made use of the small hotel gym on two days, which was basic but modern and clean. The communal areas are a very high standard, though the room... More

Thank you very much for the very helpful review. I love reviews like these, because they provide us with genuine food for thought. Like I said before, the inclusion of internet service in the room rate is subject to evaluation. Swissôtel Amsterdam currently has an outstanding contract with a provider. Once the contract will be nearing its expiry date we... More

Just back from a 3 night stay and I can only re iterate what all of the other reviews have stated. The hotel is in an excellent location, so easy to get everywhere, nice and clean rooms, but most importantly the staff were so helpful and accomodating. A nice hotel for a city. The location is excelent! It's in the heart of Amsterdam: 5 min. walk everywhere: to museums, shops, central station, canal station etc. The hotel is small but very cosy, the rooms are also small but include everything necessary. The personell is very helpfull, special thanks to Cindy! :-) The breakfast costs 12 Euro per... More

Great! Another maximum score. Thank you very much. Reviews from business travellers are rare so your comments are highly appreciated. Thank you for the comments. What a great location! The hotel is right next to Dam Square and is only a few minutes walk from Amsterdam Central station. Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
