I was a bit disappointed with the "premium" room - definitely not worth the upgrade. The room was a bit noisier than I'd expected. more

Nice hotel and friendly staff (concierge Rob). Only problem was that next to our room there was construction site. Breakfast was excellent. Location is just superb. more

My family stayed at the Swissotel last month when transferring from Africa to the U.S. The location and connecting "kids room" appealed, but unfortunately the hotel did not live up to its four star rating. The hotel is indeed centrally located -- a ten minute walk from Centraal station -- has a small but upscale lobby, and provides a bountiful... more

Swissôtel Amsterdam needs to comply with a long list of requirements in order to earn and keep the 4-star rating awarded by the Dutch Hotel Classification Federation. Swissôtel Amsterdam truly regrets that the reviewer did not consider the hotel a 4-star property. Although in our view the hotel’s amenities meet the standards we do however take all comments and criticism...

Very pleasant stay here. The location (for a tourist) is great!! It's an easy walk to the trainstation, has trams right outside, right near the Dam and Magna Plaza, and 2 blocks away from the Red Light District. As a tourist, it can't be better situated. Lots of amenities - free use of the business center - you can print... more

Stayed at the swissotel May 5-11. Great home base as you are in the center of everything. Front desk was very nice, they were able to confirm a reservation for us at De Kass restaurant which, btw, everyone should go to. Its in a greenhouse and has all fresh food. Our room was good, nothing fancy, but beds were comfy... more

Stayed in this hotel for a weekend. It is indeed centrally located. I booked a junior suit and it was a nice room all in all, with a great view; though central window frame is a bit loose and flooring is a bit shabby. What was not nice is their room service. I went for a walk on Saturday morning... more

Four of us stayed at this hotel for one night only on a mini cruise to Amsterdam. The Hotel is wonderfully situated on Dam Square, just 10 mins from Central Station. I am a very widely travelled person but I have never encountered such friendly, helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms were a bit variable.... more

I must admit that this hotel is centrally located. It's right at Dam Square, down the street from the Central station. The tram stops just in front and will take you throughout the city (pick up a 15 punch ticket at any grocery store for 7 euro). This hotel is within walking distance of Anne Frank's house and the red... more

My friend and I stayed at Swissotel Amsterdam for 3 nights and it was perfect. I did a lot of research and booked based on comments here on TripAdvisor and I was very pleased. You can't get any better as far as location and the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. Most of the main sites were within a 5... more

Stayed here for a week 4-11 to 4-18-09. We paid extra for a superior room which was still a bit on the small side. Room was clean and well serviced each day. Front desk staff was helpful. We never even considered using public transportation as all attractions were easily walkable. When we checked out there was an inaccurate charge on... more
