We stayed here luckily for only 1 night and was shocked at how much of a lean the bed was on! We had to move our pillows and take all the sheets off and sleep the other way, otherwise our heads would of had all the blood run to it. The Internet was terrible! We were kicked off every 3... More

We stayed just 1 night with our 10 years old son. We were ready to pay extra cost for our son even they do not provide extra bed. So I have asked them how much we have to pay before the reception required from me. I am really surprised when hearing the cost. Because they required 50 euro for just... More

Best location for getting to everywhere!!! 10/10 The rooms are small and a bit cramped but that is the only downfall and our room was unfortunately located on the staircase between floors, very noisy and no window view at all!!!!!! Other than that the staff are fantastic, very polite, helpful & friendly. I booked 2 nights at £104 and it... More

I would highly recommend that you avoid this hotel. But let me start with the positives. The hotel is first of all in a perfect location, it is situated a short 5-10 minutes’ walk from the train station and is right next to a busy street full of restaurants and shops. Although it’s right by this busy street it is... More

Good value; friendly staff; very easy 10 minute walk, with luggage to/from Central Station; close to trams; about 30 minute walk to museum and red light district. Room itself is small, but comfortable. Note that at least room 28 has no view (so if you want a canal view, or any view) get a different room. Decent European-style breakfast (although... More

Had a terrible and unacceptable experience at this hotel when we found a mouse/ rodent in our small hotel room. The staff were extremely unhelpful with the worst customer service we have ever received, this resulted in us having to move hotels half way through our trip at 10pm at night with two luggage’s each wandering around an unknown city!... Lovely hotel! very friendly staff. Room was clean only slight glitch was the light switch was on the headboard and it kept switching on when my partner moved! Breakfast was as we expected a typical continental style. Great that they had vouchers for main tourist attractions. Really great location very easy to walk to the Anne Frank house and The... More

I stayed in Singel Hotel for only 2 days. It is in front of a canal and the rates are good if you compare with other options. The location is very good, its close to train station and a walking distance from centre. There are some nice cafes opposite the hotel and shops in the surroundings. My room was clean... More

My daughter and I enjoyed 4 nights in a canal view room. We found the staff to be very helpful, the breakfast plentiful. Easy walking distance from Centraal station and an ideal base to explore Amsterdam

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
