Great basic hotel for the city. Clean linen, ensuite bathrooms clean, breakfast options good (although not so much for an allergy sufferer but I still managed to find things to eat) Persons helpful with maps etc Right in the centre of the city so convenient for everywhere

Located on the Singel Canal 5 mins away from Central Station, A quiet location with great views over the canal, loveley residential area. Having stayed in hotels all over Europe this has the friendliest most helpful reception staff that we have had the pleasure to meet. Nothing was too much trouble. Room was very clean huge bed and small but... More

Firstly, I had no problem with the staff - they were friendly. But it seems the rooms are really variable in this hotel. I was unfortunate enough to stay in a terrible room on the ground floor. The room was hot, smelt badly and had the smallest of windows and a tiny TV. There was no fridge/coffee machine in the... More

When visiting Amsterdam for a weekend, it was important for us to stay in the central area and close to "everything". The hotel is situated 5-10 minutes walk from the Central Station, but in a more quiet area. There are many cozy restaurants and cafes nearby. If you ask for a room on the backside, you'll have a good night... More

A great location and easy walk from Amsterdam central station. Staff were great to deal with and always helpful!! Lift was a bonus as we were on the 4th floor. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to all looking for a great spot and clean hotel in Amsterdam.

Potential guests should be aware that this hotel is formed from 2 or 3 old canal houses, so as well as making it full of character, it could be difficult for anyone with mobility problems. In a fine location facing the Singel canal, you enter through a semi-basement level where there is always someone helpful on reception. Security is good... More

Wonderful stay at the Singel Hotel wish we could have had another 2 days there. The staff from the receptionist to the morning breakfast servers were great. They printed out our boarding passes for the following day with no problem and seemed genuinely happy to help us out. The wi-fi was good in the room. We had reserved a Luxury... More

Good location in an interesting area, not far from the central station. That makes it a good choice for business trip or sightseeing also. Otherwise hotel was clean and tidy but very tiny rooms and bathrooms.

The building is very old (the man at the front desk said mid-17th century), so it has some quirks, and some rooms can be very small. The room we stayed in had an angled ceiling (a result of the gabled roof) and the floor had a noticeable angle. However, the hotel is very clean and quite comfortable. We actually came... More

We spent during our last trip to Amsterdam 2 nights in this hotel and I can definitely recommand this property to anyone who is seeking a great value in the middle of the city center. Staff is friendly and rooms and bathrooms are clean and definitely ok for the money you pay. I liked the fact that they still provide... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
