6 of us stayed, two double rooms and two singles, all on the basement level which looked out onto garden. The two doubles were fine in a relatively modern two storey extension, not massive but comfortable, clean and everything worked. Corridors a bit jaded but not a problem. The two singles were not as good. Both were small and affected... More

I was here for three nights. Two of us. We got a renovated room (number 40). It was not in basement, nice view. Actually, room is small, but it has everything you need. Bath is very good, nice shower, hot water. The breakfast was much better than I really expected. Bread, butter, cheese, chocolate pasta, original orange juice, coffee machine,... More

We had a very comfortable one-night stay at Prinsenhotel. It's only a few minutes walking to Vondelpark, Leidseplein and Museumplein. Only the carpets in the hallway need to be renewed. The breakfast was nice, great coffee! The single room was very small, the double with garden view very nice.

I really enjoyed staying in this hotel: the room was large enough for three people, there was an elevator, free wifi, the breakfast was excellent (I still miss the orange juice!). Location was fine too, the 1 tramway took us every day to Dam Square. I would come again to this place if I returned to Amsterdam.

Stayed here for 2 nights. Good location, close to Vondelpark and the museums, and a 20 minute walk to Dam Square, and all the attractions closer to the city. Helpful, friendly staff, and Jack the resident cat was a real bonus. Room was a very small double but spotlessly clean. Continental breakfast each morning was fine for us, cereals, toast... More

The hotel bedrooms were clean, if basic, and the hotel is in a good position to trams & buses. We didnt spend much time in the rooms so suited our needs. The breakfast was more than adequate. On the down side, the bar in reception never seemed to be open, we tried to get a drink and were told it... More

I shall write this review with my honest opinion and I urge travellers to make their own minds up. Location - Located near Vondelpark, the Hard Rock Café and the Blue Boat Canal Cruise Company. In the Museum Quarter so you are also within walking distance to the Van Gough Museum, the Rijksmuseum and Heineken Brewary. We walked everywhere, although... More

I stayed in room 43 (single room) for two nights. The staff had read my request for a quiet room, so I got a room on the top floor. My friend didn't request the same and got a room in the basement/ground floor. As my room was quiet, my friend's room was right underneath the reception area, so she heard... More

Upon arrival, the desk clerk gave me Room #6, a single room. The room was very small, the bed was a single-size (not a twin or queen), and the mattress sagged (I sat on it and sank almost to the floor). In the bathroom, there was not a separate shower. Instead, the hotel hung a shower curtain across one-half of... More

Pros: excellent location, in 5-10min you can reach streets with pubs, restaurants and clubs; 5-10min to Rijksmuseum and Van Gog Museum. Cons: the hotel is very old - time to change carpets full of dust has passed along time ago; rooms are very small (hardly found a place to open my luggage bag); fan in bathroom is very noisy. Breakfast... More
