We were given room 44 which would hardly qualify as back packer accommodation and certainly would not qualify as 3 star hotel standard. There was hardly room to place our luggage and we had to keep climbing over it. My shower cubicle at home is larger than the bathroom. It was impractical to have the bathroom door closed while seated... More

This hotel is very close to everything you need. Trams restaurants and attractions like the anne frank museum, the van gogh museum, and boat tours. The streets are nice and quiet. The rooms are not big but not small either. It was enough to fit a family of four comfterably. There is a beautiful courtyard at the back and the... More

This hotel's location is excellent. 5 minutes walk fron many trams and buses which can take you anywhere in Amsterdam. 5 minutes walk from the cheap airport bus-so so convenient. The street is quiet and safe, during all hours. The staff was very helpful and nice. We got our room, even though we arrived early, and we were also able to... More

The hotel its clean, offers small rooms but enough for resting after you visited an entire day and your legs are hear-ting:). they have a lovely back garden with parrots who are fling free. Its close to everything, parks, transportation, bars, everything. The breakfast is basic, but good enough. The people on the reception are very nice and helpful. It will be my great pleasure... More

This is a lovely traditional Hotel so close to everything.. trams; buses; shops and food outlets. The room was clean and comfortable and the safe was free to use. The staff were lovely especially the evening staff. Nice simple breakfast and at least you could get a decent cup of tea there! Enjoyed our stay there last week.

Only 7 stops on the tram from the station and a very short walk to the hotel which is on the same street as the Marriott. Having caught an early flight we arrived at reception hoping to drop off our bags, however we were surprised when the gentleman on reception said our room was available and we could check in.... If you want a good clean hotel on a very quiet street but literally 2 minutes from really good restaurants and bars then try the Prinsen. The tram from the station pulls up just 100m from the door and the whole of central Amsterdam can be reached in 20 minutes by walking. Really lovely all you can eat continental breakfast.... More

My bad: I had to visit a Client in Amsterdam and had very little time to book a decent hotel. Three stars? City centre? Sounds good, yeah? I have seen a lot of bizzare places. This one is very special. First, I have never slept in 3 star basement room (!) with the wall cracks so wide you can see... More

Prinsen is a small unassuming 3* hotel close to the center of Amsterdam. The location is great - the street is quiet, with very little traffic, nice neighborhood all around. It's also very close (10 mins walking distance) to the canals and the museum district. Public transport is readily available. The hotel itself is pleasant, the breakfast area very nice... More

the prinsen is well run, with helpful,, knowledgable staff. the bedrooms are somewhat small, but you will not be spending long in them in a great city like amsterdam! very comfortable bed, great shower and bathroom, only a faulty light to moan about. the breakfast buffet is well stocked with rather good quality items and the coffee is truly excellent....
