If you want a good clean hotel on a very quiet street but literally 2 minutes from really good restaurants and bars then try the Prinsen. The tram from the station pulls up just 100m from the door and the whole of central Amsterdam can be reached in 20 minutes by walking. Really lovely all you can eat continental breakfast.... More

My bad: I had to visit a Client in Amsterdam and had very little time to book a decent hotel. Three stars? City centre? Sounds good, yeah? I have seen a lot of bizzare places. This one is very special. First, I have never slept in 3 star basement room (!) with the wall cracks so wide you can see... More

Prinsen is a small unassuming 3* hotel close to the center of Amsterdam. The location is great - the street is quiet, with very little traffic, nice neighborhood all around. It's also very close (10 mins walking distance) to the canals and the museum district. Public transport is readily available. The hotel itself is pleasant, the breakfast area very nice... More

the prinsen is well run, with helpful,, knowledgable staff. the bedrooms are somewhat small, but you will not be spending long in them in a great city like amsterdam! very comfortable bed, great shower and bathroom, only a faulty light to moan about. the breakfast buffet is well stocked with rather good quality items and the coffee is truly excellent.... The hotel is in an excelent location, walking distance to nice museums and with good restaurants nearby. Public transportation available very close. The room was really small (for one person only) but it was enough. Clean and clear. The hotel has an elevator (since, in Amsterdam, it is not sth so common, it was higly appreciated!!). The staff was very... More

The Prinsen is well located as it is just outside the very busy centre but the very centre is a short distance by foot. You can get the 197 bus from Schiphol airport for 5 euro which drops you off close to the hotel. The hotel is basic, in need of renovation but very clean. The staff are very knowledgeable... More

I stayed for 2 nights at the Prinsen Hotel, we were very happy with the room. The hotel is very quaint and centrally located. A little bit out dated but I wouldn't consider that a problem. The receptionists were very friendly and the highlight for me was meeting Jack the Cat, he is a big fat fur ball that made... More

Stayed at the Prinsen Hotel for 2 nights whilst on holiday with my family. Staff were very helpful to offer info and directions and the rooms were clean, very soft and comfy beds. Met Jack the Cat who was the highlight of this stay and breakfast each day was fresh and plentiful. Wifi worked through out the whole hotel. Would... More
