The Hotel was a convenient walking distance to Central Amsterdam. No Aircon but had a large window for fresh air. We had a triple room which was clean and tidy. The power shower was amazing especially after a long day sightseeing. The hotel was very easy to get to once we got used to the area and was serviced by... More

This is the second time we have stayed in this hotel. Typical city break so we were only in the room to sleep. This hotel is perfect for this. Exceptional value for Amsterdam. Not right in the middle but its in a good area. Tram stops about 500 yards away and there is also a taxi rank. You should only... More

Handy hotel close to Leidsplein yet far enough away that disturbance is minimal at night. Comfortable single room on third floor with double bed and en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities, small wardrobe and safe in the room. Staff were helpful, all requests were dealt with well, they also allow you to leave your luggage on your day of... More

Although the hotel was in a great location, walking distance to everything while still being in a quiet street, the room was so stuffy and had no ventilation. There was no air conditioning and the window was small and barely opened a couple of centimeters. We had to open our hotel room door to allow air in from the corridor... More

GREAT location, close to tram stops to wherever you need to go. All of the staff were nice and really helpful. We stayed in a family room on the 2nd floor for 4 nights (1 double bed and 2 singles next to each other) room was clean and comfy but had no air conditioning, however there were 3 fans which... Hotel has a great location in the Jordaan. Room was quite large, though the quality of the maintenance was not that good. One window opener was broken, leading to an open access from the street to our room. Guy at the reception spoke poor english and the window was not repaired at our night stay, nor we were offered a... More

We stayed here for 2 nights, was clean and comfortable. Great location! Walking distance to city centre, sites and attractions. Anne franks museum is close by the hotel. Good food nearby. Staff friendly. Great shower. And well priced considering the location!

The area is nice and quiet, just few minutes walk from the chaos, which is convenient. Breakfast is good, staff is helpful and will help you as needed, including bike rental. The hotel itself though got somehow stuck in 1982. Considering the room price. Some renovation sound really be considered.

I can not say much positive except for the location. Jordaan district is a wonderful location to stay in. You can find another hotel that is cleaner and more friendly. It felt like they could care less if you are there or not. Spend a little more money and get a better experience.

We arrived in Amsterdam at 6am and unfortunately our hotel was unable to allow us to check in due to no rooms. The attendant was kind enough to find a hotel to allow us to get some sleep, for a small fee, until we could check in. We grabbed a taxi and checked into De Looier. The man behind the... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
