From the reception area to the elevator and then the room it is quite a disappointment. The reception is just inside the door, which made for congestion. The elevator was very dilapidated, the floor all cracked. The room, ......must say the bed was comfortable, but the bathroom had a flat floor, so poor drainage, the shower had a dingy curtain... The location was right in between the central train station and Dam square so everything was in walking distance. The breakfast buffet was good and the room was comfortable. Only issue was that the door to our bathroom didn't shut properly but it wasn't really a problem

A very well located hotel that's close to everything! Rooms very basic, but didn't spend a lot of time in there apart from sleeping so didn't mind. The bathroom extremely small you couldn't even swing a cat in there!!! The hotel managers need to be aware that they have bed bugs as me and my partner both have bites, so... More

We enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam and the location of this hotel made it easier for us since it is in the center of everything. But we may have been a bit unlucky with our room. Just these three things which we weren't so happy about. Bathroom had flies in it all the time. I think the vent wasn't working... More

We have never found a more friendly hotel in all our travels. Sure the rooms are a bit small but the location is great and the breakfast could not be faulted. We were stranded in Amsterdam for an extra couple of days due to the fire at Rome airport and the staff were so helpful with everything including new flights,... More

Good hotel, clean and well run, air con in room, our twin was quite small but good enough for 2 nights. Absolutely no smoking inside room, windows only open an inch or 2. Good coffee shop Resin over the road and lots of bars/ coffee shops withing walking distance. Dam square is a 2 min walk from here. Redlight 10... More

We stayed in room 211 for a quick trip on July 18 - 20. The hotel is located in the middle of the centrum area and is reasonably priced, clean, well-maintained and felt very secure. The lobby is spacious and has snack/coffee machines, as well as ample sitting areas. The main door locks after a certain hour and you will need... More

Stayed over a weekend in a single room, was tiny, but very comfortable. The staff was helpful and knew all the directions to the places I wanted to visit. The layout was a little funky but after one walk through it was easy to navigate. The breakfast was very good, they had a pretty wide variety of foods including a... More

Ignore bad reviews. Why would you be spending so much time in the room when you are in the beautiful city of Amsterdam? Room was very simple, very clean, perfect for city break and great value for money for being so central! Could hear the odd thing from next door but didn't bother us. Location could not have been better.... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
