Our room was small and it smelled. There was too much furniture in the room, so we put one table in the bathroom. We had a dark shower curtain and the light was so bad, that when you took a shower you hardly saw anything. The bed wasn't that comfortable either. The window didnt help with the smell because the... Central hotel easy to find. Rooms are small but have all you need. Shower is wetroom style. Clean throughout.Reception checks everyone entering which makes you feel secure in a big city. We were welcomed by Christine who gave us a few quick pointers @ the hotel & asked if we needed any other help. The breakfast was varied & plentiful.... More

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Centraal Station (trains to and from the airport are very frequent and cost €5.10 for a single journey - save yourself a lot of money and don't bother booking a taxi or transfer). We arrived a good time before we could check in but a room was available so we were allowed... More

I stayed here for 5 nights. Got a room at the bottom floor and it was not possible to change, although the hotel was still offering rooms to other visitors. The hotel includes breakfast but it is a very simple breakfast and it starts at 7 am but the food isn't finished at that time. Eggs are pale and white,... More

From the reception area to the elevator and then the room it is quite a disappointment. The reception is just inside the door, which made for congestion. The elevator was very dilapidated, the floor all cracked. The room, ......must say the bed was comfortable, but the bathroom had a flat floor, so poor drainage, the shower had a dingy curtain... The location was right in between the central train station and Dam square so everything was in walking distance. The breakfast buffet was good and the room was comfortable. Only issue was that the door to our bathroom didn't shut properly but it wasn't really a problem

A very well located hotel that's close to everything! Rooms very basic, but didn't spend a lot of time in there apart from sleeping so didn't mind. The bathroom extremely small you couldn't even swing a cat in there!!! The hotel managers need to be aware that they have bed bugs as me and my partner both have bites, so... More

We enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam and the location of this hotel made it easier for us since it is in the center of everything. But we may have been a bit unlucky with our room. Just these three things which we weren't so happy about. Bathroom had flies in it all the time. I think the vent wasn't working... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
