We stayed at this hotel in August of 2012 for the weekend on our tour of Europe. This hotel was perfect. The staff was excellent and very attentive. The location was superb; quiet and serene, and yet very close to everything.

We stayed here recently. The location is great, close to many sights and restaurants and to the tram. The hotel staff was excellent and the rooms were super clean. It was fun just to sit outside and watch boats and people on the canal.

I won’t use this place again. My room was a few doors down from reception in a separate entrance. The breakfast at €17.50 is way too high for what it is. €150 per night for the room is way too high. Price isn’t always the most important thing but it should reflect the experience. There’s no bar, room service is... More

This is a stylish hotel that straddles two canals. Service is impeccable and rooms are incredible. Walk everywhere...Van Gogh, Rijks, Anne Frank's House, restaurants, and diverse pedestrian shopping streets. Be sure to visit some of the smaller museums around the hotel. We stayed in a bi-level suite that offered us nightly entertainment from our french balcony on the canal and... More

I've stayed at the Ambassade MANY times since the 1980s. And every visit there has been sensational. It doesn't matter if you stay only a couple of nights or if you stay a week or two as I have, you leave hoping to return ASAP, as I do. The staff, the rooms, the central yet serene location, the breakfast room... More

This hotel is amazing, located close to museums and just a few minutes from Dam square. Stuff is very friendly and very helpful, room I stayed in was just great. It takes less than 15 minutes to get the RIJKS MUSEM and from there you are just 5 minutes from Van Gogh Museum - you don't need taxi or public... More

Lovely oozing with Dutch charm. Located on canal in quiet area but easy walk to everything. We arrived wet bedraggled after being let out a ways away in the pouring rain by an errant taxi driver. (It was early morning, our rooms were not yet ready but they whisked us up tot the dinning room for a lovely breakfast and... More

We liked the hotel because it's walking distance to Dam square, red light district, and Anne Frank House museum. You need to take a train or a cab to go to the Van Gogh museum or Leidseplein (where most of the clubs are). We spent most of our time going to coffee shops and coming back to this hotel was... Rooms were a little on teh small side and the way we got to our room through the use of the lift and the curving and tight staircases was unusual but all part of the holiday experience. Would defeinetly recommend the Hotel to friends (couples).

The Ambassade is a lovely place to stay, charming and well-located. This is well-known on Trip Advisor. I wanted to write about the amazing service that the staff provides. They asked us if we wanted museum tickets in advance -- we were not aware we could do this. Having the tickets with us saved us LOTS of time. And then,... More
